I've read all your posts and checked Wikipedia and STILL don't understand anything... can somebody PLEASE just summarize in a sentence or two what this Show was about?

They crashed on the island which beconed them to protect it. Well one of them. Then they got tested until one person stepped up. The Island holds an evil entity with super powers. Which should never be unleashed into the world. In the end the evil got killed. Jacob created the evil on the island so he had to babysit.
The side story in the end was that they all cared for eachother and ended up meeting each other in purgatory.

Watched the first couple of seasons then stopped, I just downloaded the rest and watched it all in a Lost marathon.
So basically the story is this evil bitch kidnaps a couple of kids, whilst protecting an island which is essentially pure evil. The smarter kid wants to get off the island and away from the woman that killed their mother, but the retarded kid decides to stay and protect the island. The smarter kid (now man) tries to get off the island, but evil bitch attacks him and kills his village. Man has every right to, and does kill evil bitch, but his retarded brother uses his mongoloid rage on him and feeds him to the evil island, who burps him out as black smoke. Retarded guy now has lots of powers and centuries of knowledge, but is essentially now just a retarded sage. The other guy also now has powers gets trapped on the island for eternity, and gets pissed off and homicidal. This was the basis for their story? Really????
The finale was top though, I would've liked it better if they'd destroyed the island, all went out in a blaze of glory, and that was their purpose.
