This. Nobody's got a problem with moshing but if people are moving into a new scene to look "cool", they could at least respect that there's already people in that scene who don't like it

And all of this has got to be put in perspective really, something that alot of u guys fail to do apparently.
Obviously all of this shouldn't be done on a rave where Kriptic minds, youngsta, mala, ..... are playing, as they provide us with bass-heavy music, not really suitable for a stagedive or something
But if u got real party-heads like Reso, N-type, Skream, ... and they really got the crowd going, then why not ?!
I remember having N-type over a few years ago in my little town and there were about 250-300 people and everyone was goign mental, resulting in an occasionally stagedive, that was fucking sick, and even n-type was liking it as well, how the FUCK can be against something like that ??
Last year it was i think at Untitled! in Antwerp, Skream himself jumped onto the crowd and everyone loved it!

My hometown is filled with indie kids who push mosh to pretty much anything and try a push mosh every friday. If you see a mosh pit break out, if they are small kids, show 'em how it is done and push 'em to the floor, then they will all pussy out and stop.

I'm actually pro-mosher as it seems to really piss off the 'stand around and talk try and have a dubstep conversation for 8 hours' guys at shows.

local dj/producer talking about his next project > e-tard at front of crowd trying to talk to you while djing > mosher kid > Fuzzy Boots Girl > stand around guy

I really hate it when "people" are going to mosh on dubstep/DnB.

A few weeks ago here in Belgium on the festival called "Pukkelpop".
Noisia... They were playing in a tent about 200 meters by 50 meters.
Suddenly the tent splits in half like a wall of death.
Then those "moshers" start moshing in that space...

I was like

I F***king hate that! Keep moshing for that hardcore metal shit.
Learn the DnB moves ffs!

exactly the same happened at Exit Festival this year..luckily i wasnt there and was at the absolutely sick Happy Novi Sad stage, brimming with good vibes every night. (Big up banana man although he really was a Kiwi)

people in the back of the tent were laughin their ass off, trust me, I was there .
And @ other Belgium dude :
There's a difference between full on stagediving and a little crowd surfing though. I don't think the 17 year old girlfriend would enjoy a boot in her face. I don't know, I usually stand in the back and talk to nobody, I don't know anything about the front row massive I suppose.

Yeah I know you'd laugh if you're somewhere at the back.
But I was right in the middle of the tent loving the vibes then suddenly they split up
Totaly ruined it for me...

I remember there being moshes at dubstep raves in 07.. its nothing new, doesn't mean it isn't uncalled for, its a night killer for those who actually go there to meditate and experience new sounds!

The stagedives u find at a hardcore show can't really be compared with those at a dubstep rave imo.

I don't think people go to dubstepshows with the intention of stagediving their ass off,it's more a heat-of-the-moment thingy, whereas in the hardcore world, it's pretty standard to have at least 6 shoes in your face if you're up front

I agree with the 'there's a time and a place for everything' filosofy, but imo a well placed stagedive/crowdsurf/... is perfectly possible and can even help build up a great vibe/atmosphere!

stage dives are cool

but the whole "moshing & dubstep" really confuses me. ever hear of dancing? and no, moshing is not a form of dancing, at least not at an electronic show... saying that I do love me some good crust, hardcore, grindcore, etc. and I like getting into a pit at those shows where that is appropriate. this kind of display just reflects the people attending these shows now, and the style of music that can even be classified as "dubstep" to make people feel like moshing is cool.

if you feel the need to mosh and form a pit while a dj is playing "dubstep", then the dj is most likely not playing dubstep...

i was at leeds and watched sub focus, magnetic man and rusko. Mosh pits everywhere! never had anything like it in a club. i reckon it was the festival vibe.
Hated it though. I love a good pit, but its a metal thing!

Dance music is for dancing.

People go mental at some of the parties here but not moshing really, there's a huge difference to getting your womp on and moshing. Pushing people around because you feel like you can get away with it is a far cry from losing your shit to the bass and going for it. Just like any concert really, if you arnt in it for the stamina lets go crazy buzz then dont go close to the front of the crowd. Nobody been to a Prodigy concert?
