really wanna built one of these for the laptop stand alone!

I'm going to Ikea today to purchase the materials, which size legs did people use? I'm probably going to go for the 16cm

Think I used the 16cm ones! At first I thought they were a bit too high but now I got used to them, perfect man!

So cheap for what you get too.

the higher the stand the better, i use 16 but i wanna raise it. genuinely want my 1200s at chest level. that would be fresh

Mine is just a wee bit off of chest height, its nice.

Yeah I want it near chest level but I think it might look a bit shit having too long stands so I was thinking maybe nail two bits of wood to the bottom as feet 100mmx100mm 790 mm in length, given the whole thing a raised kind of look.

how far into the main deck do you have to mount the angled legs so that the laptop stand fits flush against the wall with it all?

looking nice apmje - need to sort out those speaker stands though!

i got the 11cm ones and they're perfect for me and i'm 6'2". i really don't think you want it quite at chest height. the height of mine means that my elbows bend at a natural angle when using the decks rather than having to bend up or down at all so it's really comfortable and effortless to use - it was all ergonomically measured when i did mine haha

you've got your legs at the bottom of the expedit without the shelf on top though havent you? so there's about 6cm less height in it without that bit of wood

just measured mine and there's just over 8cm from the back of the base of the metal angled thing to the back of the wooden surface. the laptop stand sticks out about 10cm further than the back of the surface, and that's sticking out 5cm from the back of the expedit. if you want it all flush it'd look shit and have far too big an overhang at the front

if you really wanted it level you could move the metal bits about 7cm, maybe 8 at a push, forward and still be able to fit technics decks on, but they'd be right up to the metal leg and it doesn't look as good imo as it's more cluttered. depending on your mixer too you'd have issues with the shelf overhanging and making it awkward to use

i can take a better photo of the back of it so that you can see it more clearly if you want?

looks ideal. gonna wait til i move in the fall, though.

you can just about see the board i added to the back which i've not painted black to match yet. i'd say putting something on the back is a must even if you don't have the unit standing in the middle of the room because records can still fall out of the back

Yeah I know on the speaker stands like Badger. Just bought some Whitelabels and then Technics will be bought, then speaker stands!

Too expensive and big up on that collection Badge. Serious! But yeah, sort that dust.

they're good if you need it playing out as well because it folds up and you can fit in a record bag

Ah nah I meant, I have a deckstand allready. I have a set of turntables allready, just upgrading/sidestepping from a set of TT500's to 1210's.

I already bought the 16cm legs before reading the advice not to. They are too big lol,

i changed the original post yesterday to include about the 11cm so hopefully noone else does the same
