You couldn't be more wrong mate, DnB is massive in Guildford, Dubstep is a growing scene. We have to work double the amount to get people in on Dubstep nights than we do on DnB nights.SketchyDub wrote:ive played dubstep sets at boileroom at least 7 times now.. there are tons of people wanting to go to nights around gfd.. there just aren't enough.. thats why my mates have set up a monthly night called "livid".
everytime i've played at boileroom its been packed.. sometimes people who aren't into dubstep come along, and they enjoy it.. the last one was yes, but i dont think the next one will be seeing as they are looking to book out backline and are getting bar 9 on the bill hopefully.Rotation Events wrote:You couldn't be more wrong mate, DnB is massive in Guildford, Dubstep is a growing scene. I agree there could be more but is there realistically enough people to fill every night ?
Livid is an under 18s night no?
Good luck with that! Backline are only having Rotation & kane fm doing dubstep and dnb in there for the forseeable.SketchyDub wrote:everytime i've played at boileroom its been packed.. sometimes people who aren't into dubstep come along, and they enjoy it.. the last one was yes, but i dont think the next one will be seeing as they are looking to book out backline and are getting bar 9 on the bill hopefully.Rotation Events wrote:You couldn't be more wrong mate, DnB is massive in Guildford, Dubstep is a growing scene. Also Bar 9 will cost a packet even if it is a 300 capacity venue. Looked into it already.
That last post wasn't meant in a negative way at all, its just a fact. I was speaking with owner tonight who told me that he has had to tell about 3 people in the last month that they can't do nights there.SketchyDub wrote:ive played a dubstep set at backline so obviously notRotation Events wrote:Good luck with that! Just an idea, but maybe you should come and introduce yourself and bring a CD with you, like i said before. It makes a lot more sense than using this forum. Its gonna be better for us to see what you are like in person.SketchyDub wrote:yeah well id be getting better gigs if people actually gave me a chance and didn't judge me on dubstep forum

Re Backline, i think it was getting very over saturated with dnb and dubstep, hence the lock down. Come friday, lets talk and see if we can work something out, bring a CD so we can listen to what you do tho! Kool?
