We've been waiting for this development to occur. Here is a minimal wave tinged remix of Clubroot from Bryan Zentz, to be released on a remix 12" coming out in a couple of weeks:

guys no offense but why is it that both genres sound so good in theory but the production is so shit you can't enjoy it?
i just don't get it. people go crazy about this music but much of it sounds like toy keyboards and presets, also the mixdowns are cringeworthy most of the times. now i do enjoy lo-fi sounds a lot, early ATR sounded raw and distorted but there was still a lot of craftsmanship behind it. most of this stuff sounds like there's no effort put into it.
i'd say juke though because the mixes and dance videos i've heard sounded dope, just all the single tracks i've listened to on their own so far sounded like something made in 10 minutes on emagic music maker or something :o

gonna check that triangle mix, maybe it's gonna change my mind but i doubt it :?. nothing beats this video:

even though there's shouting etc and you can't hear the music properly i think this video sounds better than any juke stuff released on planet ยต so far, i suppose it's the reverb of the room itself. btw i'd kill for a tracklist if there's any juke specialists here :D

EDIT: i mean this from 1:00 on, it's pure gold!

but then i listen to dj nate again and i'm like "uh... what the fuck is this supposed to be?"

Juke has missed the mark by an absoloute mile for me. Yeah im sure it has a tonne of pressure on a massive rig, but so does a sine wave...and an 808 kick. Im yet to hear anything I would want to listen to again.

Oh, and im sorry, but I dont care how hard it is to do, how technically clever and how perfectly in time they might be (which from what ive seen hasnt been the case anyway -w- ) but footworkers look like fucking idiots.

But fair enough, it just aint the scene for me :D

But bjork backwards? Now were talking...

I heard the DJ Rashad and Dj Spinn for XLR8R and couldn't get into it at all. Maybe it needs to be heard on a massive system, but whatever I've heard of the "proper" juke sound so far has been pretty shit. Feeling some of the Drag stuff a lot more. The Tri Angle mix for Fact was good, especially from the Amen Ra tune onwards, but a better one for me was the LHF - Keepers Of The Light Vol. 2 mix. Don't know if that's exactly "Drag" though.

I don't know about all this modern goth kid music really - but there are some really funny dragg things on youtube where they've ridiculously timestretched Blondie, Destiny's Child etc and made it sound like you're stuck in a k-hole with the devil, which is pretty good... and this is just monster raving drug music, IMHO.

Dunno anyone would want a whole night of this shit, but I dunno what chemicals are coming out of Chineses labs these days, maybe it's cool to have sex to while fucked up on NRG1 or something?

so yeah, i think juke wins by default.
wtf? Saying Juke vs. Dragg is like saying Cocaine vs. Meth. Id rather see Dj Nate off some white girl getting dirty with some foot work, rather than salem on a heroin binge slowching around up on stage like he was drowning in a pool.

But, what ever, slightweight NEW GENRES'. So I cant hate, tis exciting on both ends.

Juke wins by default.
