Yeah you're right, you shouldn't dissmiss it all. There are some chart topping R&B tunes that I'm not ashamed to like. But it goes back to my view of Funky House (or what I know as funky House). I reckon there is a higher ratio of bad to good than in other scenes. Like Dubstep!

It's all well and good to tell people not to dismiss whole genres, but I prefer to spend my time listening to music where I know there's a good chance I'll find stuff I like.

If I spent my time rooting through all the fucking terrible funky house to find a few good records I might like, I'd probably buy about one record a month.

You have to limit yourself when checking out music - there's just too much to get through otherwise. That's why when it comes to dance music, I check out all the weeks new releases in grime and dubstep but tend to avoid house.

Personally I prefer that electro house stuff to this supposedly "funky" business. Most of its not even funky its just soulful

Some soulful dubstep would be nice though. Just a suggestion.
