I've been messing around with synths for ages now and not come up with something like that, fair play.
Did you split the signal into different frequency bands? Did you resample or is that straight from the synth?
I used Albino 3 for it, and it's pretty much straight out of it + effects, It just occurred to me that you guys might be thinking I made this in reason =/, which isn't true, but continuing, It's +2&+3 high saws and low sines, with mild spread and roughly 45% saturation, running through two short tail reverbs, a phaser, and a chorus, that's inside albino, and then running in the mixer, another reverb, followed the fruity bass boost, a flange, and CMT bitcrusher with the 5.3db of drive.
In the matrix I have LFO 1 assigned to the filter one saturation with a level of 666...lol.
I'm not the best at explaining all this, and for that I apologize. I'll try to take some screen shots here later, I wasn't expecting people to want to know how to make it.
I wouldn't know actually, I use FL. :/ Sorry mate.makemerich wrote:Kes-Es wrote:VirtualMark wrote:Well just the synths used, waveforms, filters, and the effects chain would be good to know! Maybe some screenshots?

how do you automate ur wobbles in cubase? or whatever?
i always just chop them up in protools and time compress expand each note.
kinda a pain in the ass.
if you want to go the effects route. constantly eq after every few plugs.VirtualMark wrote:Care to give us some pointers? I've tried splitting frequencies but not had much luck, and people are getting better sounds than me with just a synth patch. If i use lots of effects i seem to just end up with a mess.excision wrote:OMGZ GUYS i made an excision/datsik bass sound today!!!
Not sure if im even going to continue with that tbh, i may do.Gewze wrote:thats a bare nice sound. i need to pick up my synthesising game
didnt aim it particularly at anyone, just about the people who rip on datsik etc but still like to boast they can make the datsik sound even though it is shit. they rip on someone they have been trying to copy themselves. fair play to you though mate at least you taken a different direction, cant see why people are still trying to make these soundsSinisterbeats wrote:For the record, I never said I didnt like that style cos I do. Just that my music has since taken a different direction. I mentioned it was on old tune partly because its not the style I make anymore, and also because I feel my overall production has improved since then. I also said I didnt think it was up to there standard but thought Id share it anyway to help people out if they happened to be interested how I made that particular patch. Dont think your comment was aimed directly at me anyway but thats my response any way.therzbm wrote:also love how people in this thread claim they dont like that style of bass, then claim they can make a better version of it, but only used it in old tunes.
Mate this is still a quality tune, good workSinisterbeats wrote:im aware that this isnt up to daxcision standard but its closer than the op's effort. Please ignore the terrible mixdown, this is a very old tune of mine and iv moved away from this sound but If anyone wants the patch pm me.
Sounds like amateur hour to me..edwardproductions wrote:how about this bass?

Thats a big tune man!shaneynclan wrote:there is probably easily 6 to 10 different ways of synthesizing that specific sound.
why does everyone just focus on one like one specifically is the way to do it.
why don't you experiment and come up with your own style in the process?
this is what i've come up with in my search to make said bassline:
drop at :40 mostly we're talking about the sound at :55

I love the fact that basically everyone has merked this sound completely, good work guys
excision wrote:OMGZ GUYS i made an excision/datsik bass sound today!!!
thank lord someone feels it as much as i do.. all of my friends are like.. dude its the brutal electro patch.. its beautiful.decklyn wrote:Who cares if you can make excision's bass. If you take the patch from excision and give it to someone who can't arrange a song it's going to be a shit song still.
Been a while since I was on DSF but seems like excision/datsik bass is the new wobble, ya?
Write your own tunes, find your own sound. It doesn't have to be hard either.
Fuck listen to a song like this: it'll rock the floor still and isn't all techy and shit. Easy simple sounds but arranged well.
curious to know why people do this? Horde their "secrets." It's the only genre of music where I've found that everyone insists on doing this. Almost as if someone else is going to profit off of it. This is a serious statement because I read this and see this all the time, is there a reason for not sharing the ins and outs to doing certain things? Why wouldn't you share it and spread the knowledge around? If I was able to do something that someone else couldn't and asked how I did it, I'd be more the happy to share how and what I did to achieve it, I guess that just me thoPhatboygeo wrote: ( apart from show you how to do it) ,
