I use these plugins heavily. When I want to seriously destroy sound, these are invaluable. Some I just don't get along with, like papergoose. Wtf, kind of a one trick pony, or a three trick pony.
Seriously difficult interfaces to use. Probably the hardest.
Anyone know of plugins like these but by different devs?

Nay bother.
TBH - I love the Darkware stuff so much that it's good to have this thread bumped back. Dual Thrashers is absolutely insane, obv when only used in small amounts

if you can afford/acquire it, Absynth 5 by NI has some insane capabilities, both for sample playback, and as an FX unit, try the demo to see for your self

Would love to ^, but every time I instantiate absynth, I just open it up and stare at it... I don't know what anything is or does. Any subtractive, additive, fm, any kind of synth I can figure out what is going on pretty quickly, but absynth, I just can't figure out the first thing, like what the first step is. I'd love to use absynth to chop up and granulate audio as an fx.

You can't edit audio/loop points etc but using granular mode is easy enough. Can be done by going to the patch tab then file > new sound, then on Osc A click > Main > click on the first tab (single) and choose 'Granular'. The tab underneath Granular that says 'None' is where you load your sample.
As an effect it's a similar setup.
Just mirror these settings
Then click the effects tab and have at it.
Edit - Just figured out you can loop a sample and edit the loop points, also you can edit the start of a one shot sample.

Try Alchemy in that case.
More user friendly than Absynth and an incrediby powerful granular engine.

better granular engine, but horrible for sample navigation, and inferior effects
hehe USE BOTH

Alchemy has a better granular engine?
