i turned mobs off because some people are too stupid to fix creeper explosions that they cause...

Yeah probably my fault.
Single player I can build cannons and shit to launch animals and minecarts, try it on SMP and it tends to bring down the server.
Maybe because it's on a VPS is the real issue but meh... I'll stick to playing on networks with more than a gig of ram.

bumpage.
started playing yesterday and already love it. problem is, my laptop sucks... in SP i normally don't have lags but i tried playing on a friend's server and it was horrible. could be due to the biomeTerrain mod (the beta compatible version) being used on that server... i created a map for SP and it too lags horribly, even with fog distance on the lowest settings.
i used the map generation settings that were used in this example screenshot (the picture is too big to be embedded).
so... how does the map on your server look compared to that? will my thinkpad be able to handle it?
