Man I recorded some snare hits in a concrete corridor today, the natural reverb is fukn intense!
got heaps of little things that I wana use. Heaps of organic sounds.
I'll wait till im into the track before I start re-amping shit tho.

see what I can do. I might even sort out a pre production plan tonight.
should probably start cutting some samples outa my records too.
Hmmm.... should I use all real instruments? just need to find a mean synth.... might borrow 1 from the music department.
then I can mix it all at the studio. Anti plugin track..... possible??

now thats a plan!! Too bad I can't really play any instruments that well ah...

anything after this time & anything outside of the time limitations will NOT be included in the battle!

I will put a link to my dropbox on here after we start, make sure ya label the tracks as private.... & only share em with me. If ya going down the rapidshare route... send me the link via PM.

the layout will be the same as last time... polls will run untill the final, then the votes will be in the thread!

The only rule to this battle is... tune must be between 4-6 mins long

btw, any genre limitations? and how much can the song change? i'm having a cool idea (not telling tho ) but as part of the challenge is keeping the listener interested over the course of at least 4 mins people could go and call me a cheater if there's too many separate musical ideas involved...

NO WAY!! Thats well oldskool!! haha i was on something similer about 3 yrs ago after my laptop died and before i invested in a proper pc... man you have my sympathies... Overloading reasen not fun.. then on the new pc it was like? wait i can run it all AND look at porn! heaven! Hope you get a pc sorted soon man.

lol i actually thought about that on my way to work 2day but i don't think i'll be able to finish 5 or even 2 tunes in a week (considering i never finished one in my life ).

3 hours left, let's do some brainstorming here! post possible ideas!

my ideas so far:
oldschool dubstep (as in before loefah invented halftime)
140 bpm jungle
breakcore (especially mashcore) meets drumstep/jump-up
a juke/footworl track you can dance to (not possible because law says juke can't be 4 minutes long )
ambient/melodic crunk (it makes sense in my head srsly!!!)

Focusing on a theme and a story. Just found out there is a megaman cartoon series! Cringeworth but lots of samples to be had there.
Battle Theme: Mortal Kombat samples and lines! Sword and fighting sounds ala prodigy.

140bpm switch ups between dubstep beats and jungley dnb beats.

Using ONLY the amen to make everything,, running it thru vocoders or (the mouth) to create mid range or bass sounds.

Remixing a previous made track of yourself (remixs are not quite allowed but if its your own track say a house track surly a dubstep remix would be accepted)

working at 12bpm! <-- gonna try this now! :edit no no ,,, 45 bpm works tho!!
