Hey, does anyone have any idea how this bass is made? I know it's not dubstep but goes way deep anyway. It sounds very simple but I can't get that fast attack and punchy feel. All of slimmahs bass have this kind of punchy bass without any audible midrange, although they sometimes got this phased pluck over it.

There was a really good post about reggae music that described how to make a dub sound, but I can't find it. So for now, you're left with this link instead.

0:50 mark

Pretty typical lfo sound, however really cant get my head around it and its annoying me, so thought id post on here, cant get the lfo to flow as nice, sounds really robotic.

Any ideas?

@Artie Fufkin : That may be a sample rather than a synth. Maybe something like a guitar pick sliding on a string with tonnes of distortion?

It sounds like someone got a 808 kick, slowed it down slightly, as I remember the actual kick part of the 808 to be shorter than what I heard. Then it sounds like the looping marker section of the 808 kick wave (.wav) got looped, and then someone used a pitch slider/automation thingy, to make the pitch of it go down as it plays. By the way, every 808 kick has a sine in it.

sorry, not expert enough to help anyone, but:
anyone got any ideas for how to reproduce/find the lead synth that plays pretty much throughout from 0:20

sounds nice and old school 80's so thinking it could even be an imitation of some hardware synth, if it is id on that would be just as useful.

At 3:44.
Really cool sound. Is that just sine waves bent down with distortion?

Cheers!

Just wondering about the rhythm or wobble in this song and dubstep in general...

Is the fast wobble or bass rhythm from an actual wobble or did the wav file get chopped and sequenced in that way?
Im talking about the fast one around 1:10

Borgore - Ice Cream

Thanks,
KD

to me it sounds like a low passed saw. maybe a bit of pitch lfo (really small) detune an osc slightly and some reverb and tape distortion.
i think  i might try make it when i get back home.
