Tunes my mom has stated she really likes:

Shackleton, Tunnidge - Tribe & other tribal stuff
Blawan - Potchla Vee
RSD - Naked Mariokart part 2
Addison Groove LP
Coki - Marduk (she seems to love this one)

She always wants to see and hear my new records. Last weekend she finally understood the concept of mixing, she also said "I would love to know what this would sound like played really fucking loud" when I was playing one of my mixes in the car. She's the best :U:

My moms favorite dubstep tunes (she's 47) are Badman & Arcane by Kryptic Minds, Horror Show and Babylon Fall.
For some strange reason she does always turn her subwoofer down when playing dubstep, the weight seems to annoy her

My dad hates all my hip hop, so I don't think he'd like dubstep/house either

My mum likes it, she's 65. In the early-mid 90's she went to a few raves with us and even wrote a piece for Eternity magazine in 1995 as she is a journalist as well as a retired musician having toured Europe in the 60's 70's with bands so loud music/people off their faces is something she is very much used to. She loved it :)

I was playing a Kryptic Minds tune, my day walked by and said he liked the beat. Does that count?

My mom (60's) has heard me played Scuba and said it was "beautiful." My dad is indifferent.

My parents seem unable to enjoy anything that was made after the 80s and isn't played on our local classic rock station, with the possible exception of jazz. I swear, sometimes it seems like my mum rejects music based purely on principle cos I like it and it didn't come out over 30 years ago. My dad however seems a bit more open to stuff like Skream, Author, Mala etc. than he ever has been to any of the hip hop I've listened to

ditto! my dad's big into old school skream, I got into the car one day after school, turned on the radio/cd player, and he had been playing midnight request line! proud moment of my life :U:

my mom's generally not a fan though. Most of the stuff that I play gives her a headache, she says. She liked Kromestar's album Colourful Vibrations though.

I got my 60 yr old school disciplinarian into burial, too :)

yeah he likes those ones too, it was just an example.

My experience with older people is they generally might go for the more melodic end, but most won't dig any tearout ish stuff.
