Legend4ry, I've been looking at the possibility of doing a record label, since where I live is really dry due to the fact that if you want to get anywhere where I live you have to move out of state. Not saying people suck here, because there's PLENTY of talent where I live, but they're all severely limited because no one wants to sign anything besides the cookie cutter metal and pop bands (in most cases metal and pop have been combined
)
I don't expect to be able to just open up shop next week and get going, but I have people who have expressed a desire to me to work with me on setting one up, so I'm not alone.
What am I looking at if I seriously pursue this? What type of things should I keep in mind and prepare for? Google has been coming up with quite a few results to keep me busy in my search for information, and I've been looking at this for a few months now.
I don't mean to drone on and on or ask rhetorical questions, this is just genuinely interesting to me as I've always wanted to be more involved with music and, if you don't mind/have the time, I'd like your two cents on what it took you.
Congrats on your label man! I'll be sure to check it out
