I was in 4th grade and my school was canceled early to go home.
I couldn't comprehend what was happening though.

Now ten years on they're still harping on about. Get the fuck over it you soft American shits and learn a bit of that British stiff upper lippness; treating a tragedy with dignified silence and respect... not a fucking media friendly soundbyte "9/11" and waving that shit flag of yours about like some fucking special needs kid on sports day.
implying this is a result of american character rather than the evolution of 50 years of sensationalist news media in america :corntard:
the two go hand in hand

a countries media both represents and directly influences the thoughts and actions of its people
What I resent most is how it's been used as a vehicle not just to erode civil liberties, wars and so on, but how it has become a cash cow for documentary makers. It's like the Daily Express' fascination with Dianna.

LET IT FUCKING GO!!! IT WAS TEN YEARS AGO.

But yeah, the American psyche and media are self perpetuating the "9/11" obsession.

Glad I visited the US in the June of that year. I don't fancy getting my balls scanned by the feds at JFK :6:
couldn't agree more. what i also find ridiculous is shit like this:

yea man thats fucking sickening. these companys need to get investigated, basically raking in cash from the murder of thosands of people.
ffs.
the western world (particularly the us) really jars me sometimes...
no etiquette/tact whatsoever...

no, of everyone

media is everywhere

its a non-specific term and i meant it in a non-specific way

i'd agree with you if I'd said something like 'The BBC both represents and directly influences the thoughts and actions of this countries' people...'

no one is unaffected by media except those rare, hidden tribes, even those are mostly exposed now

EDIT: ^^^^ realise how dumb that last bit sounds
except those rare, hidden tribes, even those are mostly exposed now
eurgh

but you know what im.... implying

I'm gonna direct a movie about that fateful day from the point of view of tuckerlinen's violin teacher missing his scheduled lesson and an associated broadway musical from tuckerlinen's own point of view. I'm also going to produce a soundtrack to said movie with P Diddy as an executive producer.
Million dollar business.

My close 9/11 experience.

My friend went to NYC for a holiday on his own in the Sept of that year. When it all kicked off he didn't think about ringing his mum for about a week, saying, "never thought!"

was in a record shop in Glasgow with girlfriend of the time. Shop staff told us what went down, I remember hearing the radio faintly and asked what was going on.

went back home and watched the unfolding events on TV.

a very strange day.

10 years ago, wtf.
