it would be good if text had a sarcasm sort of font- like italics but slanting backwards or something. or even just a punctuation mark like a backwards ?

My point is though some people can suffer constant trauma and still remain positive, other peoples goldfish will die and they'll be depressed for months. Does that mean some people are more succeptible to mental illness or are they just being pathetic??

Its not like everyone living through constant trauma remains positive though, there are still suicides and depression in places where people struggle to survive.

If someone really is depressed for months about a goldfish death then they probably are susceptible to a certain degree of mental illness.

Clearly some people are better at remaining positive than others, just needs a bit of empathy to understand that, 'snap out of it, there are people worse off than you' doesnt really cut it.

i read somthing in metro today about how african children living in slums are generally happier than western kids...

iunno what my point is but it seemed kinda relevant lol

you joke but in all seriousness they do came across as more happy.
However if you actually go into their homes lives n what not, they`re actually not happy.
They know how to find happiness in the smallest things.

People with major depression have a physically different brain. Both people with bipolar disorder and major unipolar depression share genes with people with schizophrenia. You're not gonna tell those people to just 'snap out of it' and stop hearing voices, are you?

It's got nothing to do with 'thinking', it's about perception. Your perception of reality is literally different. You can't tell someone in hell to start behaving like someone in heaven. Imagine yourself waking up in a world of misery and despair for a few months and then have people telling you 'to snap out of it' and 'go on with your life'.. What life? Life in this ugly world where everything is ugly and all people are hateful?
