Where do you think trance came from originally? Sven Vath was a big player in the early trance scene.

Probably because he likes aliases. Possibly more important than the tracks he made is the fact he cofounded Eye-Q and Harthouse. Must admit was never much of a fan of his tracks actually but founding those labels is huge.

I Vath's also pretty underground... apparently he used to play all night parties at clubs and had a decent rep in the '90s but he never became as big as other DJs like Paul Oakenfold and Pete Tong

I'm not big into Trance, but I enjoy some Goa every once in a while. (eg: Hallucinogen)

I'd have to agree with the guy who said that the aesthetics of trance and dubstep are too different for there to be much effective cross-pollination, but I've often thought some of the riffs from old European hardtrance tunes from labels like Noom, Bonzai and Time Unlimited would work very nicely with Boddika-style electro beats.

Here are a few examples (note: these are all pretty banging)

btw, nice selection of tunes, leyenda303!

What sort of wannabe urban schools did you go to? Funny how you got bullied for liking trance music, most likely bullied by the white 'rap' music lovers that wished they were black even though they came from the suburbs.

What do you mean? What if they went to legitimate urban schools with legitimate scary black people who listened to legitimate black rap music?

And it doesn't matter about socio-economic status, anyone who likes trance deserves to be bullied.

There are some really good trance songs, no one can deny that. All this trance hate comes from sheep following the flock rather than actual taste in music.
