ouch bro. i suggest ya get yourself some monitors or at least some good production headphones. your tunes deserve it! if you need any help picking some out shoot me a pm. iv done quite a bit of research on headphones for a long time over on head-fi.org and such. i could give you some good options to pick from based on your price range/needs.

and i also can try to push ultrasone 900's on you, because they're BOMB! haha

I usually spend far too long on my drumtracks and i'm still rarely satisfied with the results because i've been playing drums for nearly 15 years now (since i was 8 years old) and as a result i get really anal about my drumtracks when i'm doing electronic stuff... that's probably the main reason i hardly ever finish any tunes

Still though, pretty pleased with how they turned out in this one i did with my friend, skittery hi-hats and a nice clap/snare thing

Soundcloud

made the drumtrack just by cutting up various loops and hits and then reorganising them, nothing complicated really

Ever thought about getting an electronic drum set and hooking up the midi to a drum sampler? If that's possible anyway

Really nice tune man! Sub seems a bit overpowering at times though. Really liking the drums as well.

it's absolutely possible!
depending on how swiftly your CPU is running and your buffer size, you might have to record the MIDI while monitoring with one of the stock Electronic Drum set sound banks..
then after its recorded, you could route the MIDI channel to whatever sampler you want
I've done this with Kontakt years ago.... have since sold the electronic drum kit

i could, but i wouldn't want to as i have a finer degree of control programming the drums rather than playing them in live

A lot of vengeance sounding drums and loads with no dynamics at all:/

I think it helps to gel drums together when you process them/some together otherwise they sound like random hits from different folders. They might sound 'banging' on their own but they dont go with that other banging hit imo.

No one in particular. I assume people in this thread are into that American sound, ie Shrilex and Brostep.

This thread has some talk about drums also.

If they're into Brostep then doing the drums the way you said is technically the right way to go. Thats what the drums sound like in Brostep. Non-Dynamic explosions that are ready to tear the world in half lol. Its all part of the game.
