in response to TODAY -
BFM hasn't done a show at Webster Hall since last august, our Manhattan shows are mainly at Bestbuy Theater in Times Square now and midweek at Highline Ballroom.
It's a myth that we only do big womp fests, come to the smaller shows sometime and check it out.
We had Mensah & Dj Take last week for BFM:BKLYN, Marty Party coming up on the 17th of feb at DROM , Noah D on the 9th of March with Sub Swara, J:Kenzo/Truth in april. We reinforce the sound to ensure decent bassweight at pretty much every show we do in Brooklyn.
We also do a free 1st and 3rd wednesday @ the Cove in Williamsburg - Wompaholics Social Club , a lot of dub reggae (a la dj Shakey), UK Bass and even the odd MODSOUND/SKA set courtesy of Man Like Mac (the founder of Konkrete Jungle), no midrange noisy bizzle for the most part, it's a meet up chat and drink vibe more than anything. Bakir is playing the next one on feb 1st.
So in short, your missing out, we cater for everyone, support the deeper shows more and we'll do more of them , bigger lineups etc etc. It's up to you guys, if you want the deeper/dungeon/uk bass vibes then support the shows that cater for that.
Or you can pretend that these shows don't exist and keep moaning about not having more shows to go to in NYC
It's on you lot.

since i'm a punter and not a promoter, artist, or venue, I don't have to be diplomatic. You equating my asking a question with moaning has solidified my decision to continue ignoring your events. Not that you need my money, i know you probably do just fine and that is terrific.

moreover, if you do a dub and UK bass night why call it "Wompaholics"
that's a great way to confuse people and thwart newcomers
no joke, i'd love to see what that's all about but I navigate away from words like that. i think your promo machina needs a tuneup

Wow that's a pretty hostile response.
If that's all your going to take from that whole post of information then I'm not surprised that you have no clue about the wealth of bass music in NYC.
Wompaholics Social Club - It's a social club for Wompaholics, womp has been associated with bass music before during and prolly after dubstep. It's a free form music policy on a wednesday at a bar in Brooklyn. A lot of the people coming to our weekend parties were complaining about not having a midweek spot in BK so we provided it. As I said before it's more of a meet and chat/drink kinda vibe.
Open your mind a little bit more , it's not promo machina that needs a tune up, if you navigate away before you really know whats up then you'll continue to miss out. Being elitist about it only means YOU miss out.
I don't gain anything by taking the time to respond to you other than hopefully help someone who's missing out on shows find the ones they want. It's on you bruv.

Wobbles - Not at all mate, I didn't take it as a dig, just someone being ill informed.
BFM does a lot for this music in NYC, there are a lot of myths about us as well and I guess that's never gonna change, it certainly won't change us or what we do either. We're just bass music lovers like everyone else on here.
Rather than continuing to jack this thread I'd be happy to discuss this further in pm's or over a beer next time I'm in the city, and I mean that whole heartedly. We're all on the same side guys, thinking anything else is pretty ridiculous but your thoughts are your own to do with what you will.

Big up hellfire, you guys cannot and should not be ignored when it comes to the emerging scene here. BFM were the first dubstep events I attended, and without them I don't think I would have pursued the sound like I do now. And I still fondly remember that NYE extravaganza from a year ago...at least before the oinking started

Wow, I really need to get out to NYC again soon. I love the shows the BASSIC & SUBduction crews put on here in Boston, but I love the vibe I get when I go to one of the shows out there!

In all honestly I have heard of you. Ive seen the hellfire machina name around the internet in tracks that were remixed or in events. I've never been to one of ur events because of the lineups I've seen before, the way it seemed promoted and listening to some tracks it seemed it was mostly midrange step that is good just not for me. However, you did take ur time to inform us and tell us that u do cater to us all, deeper sounds and such, so I'm grateful for that. I will make it to one of ur shows now and I hope ur right because I cannot wait 2 mon ths for Reconstrvct.
Btw would u happen to know where I can catch that same deep dark dungeon vibe but in a drum & bass context? Any event or club doing this?

back to the matter at hand... LOW FREQUENCY WITH DECENCY.
location will be announced this wknd. capacity will be limited, so err on the side of caution and get there early. there's a good chance this month will sell out at the door.
attempting to organize a pre-game at a nearby bar so people have a chance to link up and the weary travelers can kick back a couple beers and relax before heading to Reconstrvct.
next Satvrday night!!!
