Really think Jacques Greene's allezallez mix should have been an option, but Mala's xlr8r will do. Props for the free tunes also

Mindstep winning over MUD!? Mindstep!? I really can't even think of one memorable release they put out. The only thing memorable was that Compilation. Every single MUD release this year has been absolutely huge, shit i'll be listening to 3 years from now.
Also, Best artist, Mala competing with Boddika? I really don't fucking get it. Maybe I'm crazy, but I really don't find that Boddika's music that entertaining to listen to. Never would I purchase a release of his. Yet he's right under Mala?!
Best new producer, Kahn competing with Objekt[/]......did that dude even put anything out this year? I know he had that one release, granted it was pretty big. Kahn as well, had great ass releases this year, Illy was huge, so was Like we used to, but still......I mean...damn, Objekt has twice the votes as Perverse, Killawatt, Lurka, Sleeper, Compa, Thelem....I mean really? Think of all the amazing tunes being dropped by those guys...
I don't mean to be all butt-hurt, and I'm not saying, but the results thus far are really strange, anyone else think so?

I definitely agree with you in this, but I do feel that Lurka is doing something very unique to most of the other dungeon producers. His percussion is top notch and he doesn't seem to resample the same old growls over and over. I was really just surprised at the amount of people who voted for Mindstep and Boddika, I really didn't know both of those parties had so much recognition and such a large fanbase. I guess it's just because since I'm not a huge Boddika fan, I really haven't been paying attention to his fanbase.legend4ry wrote:Cornbreadddd wrote:At the moment I feel like the standings are completely fucked.

You obviously have one taste and people have another.
The Mindstep vs MUD thing is totally understandable; MUD are putting out top quality music from a certain vibe while Mindstep are picking top quality EPs from a range of 140ish bass music vibes.
Talking about the Best New Producer... Lets be honest; while I think Thelem is one of the best producers around at the moment - they're all pretty similar vibes; they're all making pretty dark halfstep! Thats not everyones thing and a lot of the new categories are over saturated by the dark sound so people are split who to vote for.. Theres no 'one' person carrying that "dungeon" torch theres 6+.

I love youincnic wrote:also how come mala gets so many votes and thgere is not brostep option?
this awrds is as much a cartoon as the brostep awards night lol
also scubra is prog house not dubstep
brokkdia, joy brobison, brobjekt is techno
and iv not heard of a single one of the 'new lables'
I've never seen anyone call Skream, Mala, Loefah or D1 dungeon. Dungeon is definitely distinct from the early halfstep sound. Especially stuff like Ancient Memories and Midnight Request Line on that mix. Dungeon came around with early Kryptic Minds tracks and I think SP:MC's 'Trust Nobody' was possibly even earlier. So not until late 2007/early 2008.q-t wrote:The dungeon sound is great in it's own, but I feel it isn't new neither original. Youngsta perfected the DJing of it in Dubstep Allstars 2 and Kryptic Minds still has the best tracks on their first album. That said, this is DSF so it's obvious those sounds are going to dominate.
