See, this is why people over at the boyinaband community hate DSF. Because DSF is full of elitist pricks who believe their way is the only right way. This community is sad as hell. Dave, the guy from boyinaband, has taught me way more production tips than this community ever could, and the fact that you're making a mockery out of it proves just how elitist you guys are.

To all the non elitist friendly guys on this community who actually taught me a lot and are mature enough to respect other people's production, even though you don't like the music, you all need to find another community, because this one is smelly as shit.

To all the others: Go die.

Fine, don't care then, but honestly, it wouldn't kill you guys to have some respect, and to be more open to different things. People like friendly people, you know. I've said what i had to say (although i could go on for a long time, but i'll spare you), have fun ripping on anyone that doesn't like DMZ or uses midrange basses because, obviously, he's totally copying skrillex. Also have fun defending the name "dubstep", so that other people who call skrillex dubstep, even though there are 1000 times more of them than there are of you, cannot use that name anymore. Let's remember, we don't care about crowds, we just care about ourselves as artists.

Byebye now.

Have you read this thread? I think it proves my point.

And i'm not sure how that's relevant, but i'm 19.

It's not that he might not know DMZ but the guy looks, sounds, and acts like a bit of a prick.

Yes I have, I've read every thread where I think I can have a good laugh
It's relevant because you obviously haven't thought things through :(

I wasn't only referring to the video alone, but okay.

I just think it's lame to judge the guy on the music he makes. Sure, you may not like it, but who are you to judge what's good and what's not? The production value is usually quite decent, and his tutorials are a great help for anyone just starting off, wether you like the song he's making, or not.

Also, he's a hell of a nice guy, so i don't really see how he seems like a prick.

This morning I've started treatment for Whitespot using King British White Spot Control. After much research this seems to be the best treatment for my situation.

My question is this, I've removed the carbon pads from the filter. Once the treatment is finished, do I need to put NEW carbon pads in or can I just pop the OLD ones back in. Also, if I can use the old ones, what's the best way to store them. Do I let them dry out or should I but them in a bucket with tank water.

Thanks for your on going help.

P.S. My filter is a Fluvel U3

Hi pistons
I usually pop mine into a freezer bag straight from the filter, when I'm ready to put them back in I get a little tank water in a bucket and give them a little rinse.
I've had no problems doing this, I also have U3 filter.
If they are due a replacement I just put one old and one new rinsed in the tank water back in.

Thanks wobblez,
I'll do that then. The carbon pads are only a few weeks old and look in good condition so I don't plan to renew any time soon.

Cheers

Go for one new one old then maybe?
I know they recommend replacing every 2 weeks but I leave mine around 4-6 weeks then replace incase they aren't as effective removing any chemicals in the water.
If your medicating one new one may be more effective at removing the meds once you have finished the course.

Just administered the 3rd treatment but no improvement. In fact, it seems a little worse in that the fish have more white spots on them. They're not covered in it but it's gone from 4 or 5 spots on each to around 10 spots on each.

I've concluded that this is just the white spot doing its cycle and as I'm treating the water and not the fish, it should sort itself out once it leaves the fish and heads for the bottom to multiply.

My only concern is that the treatment isn't working and the white spot has already started its second cycle and it's just going to get worse.

Could someone give me some pointers here please. Also, how long can I safely treat the tank bare in mind that there are no carbon filters in there. I'm still doing a weekly 25% water change and api tests are all good.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Many thanks

If you've recently added fish over a period of two weeks about 1 week apart you may have the parasite in different stages of it's lifecycle which makes things very difficult. Just follow the instructions and keep up with the treatment.

If you don't have any success it's always worth trying a different medication. Myxazin is very good but is hard on fish and filters as you treat daily, others have a 4 day treatment cycle, these are better for filters and delicate fish.

Did 4th treatment this morning. I have to say, the fish are looking healthier today. They're much more vibrant than they were a couple of days ago. There's also an improvement on the white spots. Still there but not as many.

I'm following the instructions to the mark so I know I haven't missed anything. I'm going to do a 25% water change tomorrow evening. The water is a little cloudy but that's probably because there's no carbon to catch all the little bits.

Should I vac the gravel when I do my water change?

I have new carbon standing by so when we're all sorted I'll wash one in tank water and pop it in with an old one.

Fingers crossed and all that.

Cheers

Yes pistons do a good gravel vac as that's where the cysts go when they fall off the fish, the less there are to deal with the more effective the meds will be. Their numbers increase exponentially so if you can, catch them now, that way if the meds don't work, the next outbreak will be less severe and you'll have time to change meds, although as your seeing an improvement I think you'll be OK.
