ill make sure to upload my self master Vs. his master. just letting you know my "master" is simply limiting the file, because i have no clue how to master a track...at all.

Post the link when you've done it.
And I only recently started learning about mastering but just once you grasp the basics (which is pretty easy) it improves your tracks tenfold. I mean I'm just beginning to learn about headroom and all that and I've seen the technical quality of my tracks improve immensely since I started learning!
I'd suggest reading the first page of the gain structure and mixing thread, trying to understand it, and then asking questions on the gain structure thread (a lot of really knowledgeable mastering engineers and producers lurk on that thread)

probably today and tomorrow. im being pretty picky and me and paul have gone through a bunch of versions of the master to make it to my liking.

No problem good to be very particular. End of the day its your master your sound. But there's just something's I can't change that would need to addressed in the mix. all in all is a pretty good. What I've said is I'll make him 5 masters all with different eq and compression then he can pick which one works best for his sound.

While I'm here I'd like to run not so much a competition but a you help me I'll help you type of thing. Basically Im currently in the process of buying a new studio a lot bigger to cater for 3 studio setups mastering mixing and training. So we are trying to think of names and branding. Harder than you'd think a lot of names are taken. We need a good name for the studio the label the samples shop etc. ie abbey road studio abbey road samples abbey road recordings and do on. So if anyone has any good names or ideas email me at
paulashmorepersonal@googlemail.com and if I decide to use any of the names you suggested I will happily master a few of your tracks free of charge. But obviously I can only offer this to the person who submits the name that we end up using.
Just a thought if anyone's interested I look forward to hearing your thoughts. I may actually start a new thread discussing this. Thanks guys appreciated

I was not going to comment until I saw this and frankly KRK "mastering" man got up my nose a bit :
"People charging £30 a master are just robbing people who want to hear what their tracks sounds like mastered."
Firstly the word "just" demonstrates a blatant attitude problem IMO. "Just" mastering someones track is about making final decisions on someones music before it is released in a highly optimized environment with a highly skilled audio engineer, there is no "just" about it. Secondly, your room is a bedroom I can see the wardrobe door knobs, so please don't masquerade as a professional mastering studio. You offer every service under the sun unlike a dedicated mastering studio who earns a living doing one thing, day in day out, mastering.You have no mastering specific equipment and work on KRK's in an untreated room, no better than your clients. If people are happy with your results at £10.00 that is absolutely fine. But save the accusations of robbing for somewhere where a professional attitude does
not count.
What I've said is I'll make him 5 masters all with different eq and compression then he can pick which one works best for his sound.
That could be seen as tweaking a few plug ins x 5 or being indecisive because you are not confident about what you are doing.
