i think they're just trying to hype up their warehouse rave
worldwide dubstep community

Yeah not too bothered as I still have it on vinyl which is the main thing.. but paying £28 for basically 2 tunes, I might not have bothered if I knew this was gunna be given away.rorz9992 wrote:Meh the download is just an mp3. I bought the FLAC so not bothered about this
As the guy said above, most likely to promote the Dub Police Warehouse event coming up.Muncey wrote:Yeah not too bothered as I still have it on vinyl which is the main thing.. but paying £28 for basically 2 tunes, I might not have bothered if I knew this was gunna be given away.rorz9992 wrote:Meh the download is just an mp3. I'm confused more than anything, why give away a tune that was released a little while ago?
Imo it was the best release on the compilation. Giving it away for free hypes people up, if I lived in england I would definitely go to the warehouse rave. Especially to hear this tune on the funktion one system.Muncey wrote:Still could have given away something they've not just made people pay for a couple months ago. Wasn't the digital version over 40 tunes? Had so many to choose from to give away.. why choose one of the 6 on the vinyl release lol?!
:'(Muncey wrote:Why should it take giving away the best tune on a compilation people have paid good money to own to get them to go to a party you're putting on?
People over profit, dick move if its promotion and I would make an effort to never go to their events if thats the way they wanna promote them.
You'd pay £26 to own the tune on vinyl then when they give it away for free you'd pay to go hear it at their night lol.. travel, ticket, drink, accom.. talking about shelling out £100+ to hear and own a tune. Its not that good.
Plus, just to play devils advocate, people think this scene is dying arguably because people are choosing money over fans or quality control. If you don't care about pissing people off who have shelled out the money for the tune (as I said I'm not bothered I have it on vinyl but you can buy mp3s) just to try hype an event and get people who clearly haven't put money to support the music to come to your gig, I think I can say its a dick move without coming across like I'm screwing about a free mp3 given away. I mean if the sole reason was to hype the event, the only people it'll hype are people who like the music but haven't put down the money and brought it.. people who own the track aren't gunna get hyped by it being given it away. Clearly choosing to benefit those that don't wanna support the music while sticking the finger up at those that do.Muncey wrote:not too bothered as I still have it on vinyl which is the main thing.

where is your evidence to say such things tho?Muncey wrote: people who clearly haven't put money to support the music to come to your gig, I think I can say its a dick move without coming across like I'm screwing about a free mp3 given away.
you really do seem so upset. but you still don't have any leverage to say "well im a true dubstepper cos i bought the vinyl, those other guys don't support it like i"Muncey wrote: if the sole reason was to hype the event, the only people it'll hype are people who like the music but haven't put down the money and brought it...
