Cheese and Apple go together beauuutifully... especially kind of strong cheese and a-little-bit-sour apple. Nice tart Granny Smith with a stinky cheddar and some crackers... heaven!
Not sure I've ever melted cheese onto apple, mind... might have to be done.

i can imagine a slice of cheese on a slice of apple being ok, the melted part just makes my stomach turn

I once had salad cream on toast, extremely hungover cus there was no butter in the house.
