Added a little EQ to boost the high end, added some classic tube distortion and dimension expander. Unisono on 4, monophonic with some pan spreading. Comb filter linked to an envelope to go up slowly then down quickly, very low feedback though - it only adds a little to the sound. Tried adding some phase modulation but it wasn't great so I removed it.
For the 2nd sound I took the first burst from the 1st laser sound, whacked it in FL granulizer and tweaked the settings to lower the speed and make it a little grittier, then automated the pitch for each "laser burst" to go from like +2 -> -12 semitones in a smooth curve. Added some more reverb and done.
Thanks for this, it's light in the dark, will be of much use! Thanks so much ae!

korn get up synth

hi,
i hope i have this in the right place.
there is a synth at 15 seconds and at 19 seconds in this song.
i am trying to recreate it using ableton, and analog or operator. i dont have hardware, so i would have to draw this in.
my friend seems to think this sound is made by the auto filter opening and closing. it is a wah wah wah wahhh waaaah sound.
i have spent many hours trying to do this. it is apparently not like a guitar, in that, u hear a guitar sound, you then play the corresponding note, and voila!
does anyone, who is much more experienced than i, have any idea which parameters to modulate to make this sound?

Why don't you sample the sound from the track?, EQ out the sounds around it, pop it in a simpler/sampler, and then play out to midi? ^__^

Lowpass filter on an stabby organ style sound should sound similar, a good starting point is the Flenders I & II wavetables in Massive, if you have it.
thank you very much big up

ya there is that. i thought that would be cheating though. when u say EQ out the sounds around it, do u mean isolate that particular track, and like mute out the guitar and drums etc?

If Get Up was the tune with the remix competition (I think it was) you could get the stems and sample it from that

The Drum N Bass Pluck?

Im pretty sure everyone has heard a song with this in it but i have no idea on how to get this underground-feeling pluck from the video below
Sound is everywhere in the begining of the track. Any ideas on how to make this sound?
I know the basics of getting a sawtooth or a tri and using the envelope but it just does not make that "swamp-ish" like sound just right!
Im talking about the sound design of the sound not the wave to make it.

I saw the title of the post and figured id give it a listen and try to help... i didnt hear a "pluck" like i thought i would hear.
You should pin point (give us an exact time in the videos timeline) to the noise you want help with... like the noise is heard @ 0:23 or something so we know exactly which hit you are calling a "pluck".

its the under-layered bass pluck that plays between 0:30 to 1:04. The thumping bass pluck that plays throughout that entire time.
I know i might be calling it the wrong name but its not a famous sound everyone knows like a Hoover bass or a Wobble Bass
How to make this?

Its that gritty, dirty, filthy, rough wobble that stars at the drop
How would I make this in massive?

You know its jaded/bland answers like this that tell me a lot of producers on here are just egotist pricks that have no interest in the sound design of the genre they represent. "Play with pitch envelopes?" Thats as much help as saying to turn on your DAW, click the icon. That wasn't only useless but pointless when directing that to the question presented. Its "how do you make this sound" not throw a dart at the wall and see if you hit the target.
Not to come off as a dick to what i think all producers are, just the casual dick riders that don't care about anything.

You are wrong about everything.
If you'd like to come over here and chop some wood, carry some water, I could show you.

You know if you answer my complaint about people being jaded with another jaded answer as your rebuttal, it only proves me right. I know you may not get that but then again im pretty sure i should just stop hoping for someone like you to understand this concept
...and I'm pretty sure the only thing you can teach me is how to stab myself in the foot properly, thanks but no thanks
Unusual 16 bit bass..

so yeah, im working on a remix of skullcrack, and i wanted to try recreate the whole track from scratch, one of ma mates does soundscapes / film scores, and shes guna redo the whole intro for me.
The only thing im trying to work out now is the second section of the drop, the actual wobble bass, tbh, i hear alot of coki influence in it, but no matter how hard i try all my basses sound very generic, does any body have any tips?
(btw the second section isn't included in this version on ma sound cloud, because it dosent exists yet haha
