If any here are working for them in the UK I suggest you get out now, your gonna be working for free for the next few weeks and then getting shafted like us.
did you get redundancy?
Nothing, they're keeping us in the dark at the moment. Technically im still employed by them, but they are sending me out a form so I can get job seekers allowance, which means fuck all to me because im a full time student so i don't qualify for it.
I think they are being so vague with us so that we dont storm the shops and fuck bricks through the shop windows looking for the money the owe us.
As far as I know im gonna have to go through the state to get my redundancy.
Sure HMV Ireland where part of a charity to help raise money for a poor young girl with a rare form of cancer for her operatoin, and now they dont know if they will give her that money. link:

But they knew this was coming, the same CEO in place of HMV now was CEO of Jessops and thats now in administration too. They seen this coming months ago but kept the staff and public in the dark.
Simon fox the old CEO seen it coming miles away, before him and the former financial director left at the same time he had this to say. "I am proud to be leaving HMV with a profitable future secured" - Simon Fox, CEO, August 2012. He also gave himself a 50% pay rise in early 2011, from £579,000 to £874,000 and his golden handshake in September was rumoured to be £498,000......fucking disgraceful!!!!
Its the normal Joe like me who actually needs the few quid I work hard for that gets mugged off. These fat cats have more than enough to live comfortably for the rest of their horrible little years.
gonna pm you

Unless you're a "preferred creditor" I'd be worried too. The administration lawyers take their cut first and then owed "secured creditors" get the next cut.
When Fabric underwent administration I lost a sizable amount in unpaid royalties owed to me and got a .35 quid check in the mail as my settlement along with all other "unsecured creditors".

I am in the exact same position as you mate. I lost my job a week before it went into administration as they 'could no longer afford me'. I am also a student, and now from what you have said I am even more worried about getting paid especially as I am no longer there to see what is going on and am owed fuck loads of xmas wages and unused holiday pay. In all honesty this was a long time coming from what I could tell (only worked there about 7 months), everything they were doing was wrong and it was so obvious and frustrating to work there.
I am debating whether to go back into my branch to see what is going on but I as I was made redundant before it went down im hoping the pay will all have been processed. Would be cool if you let me know how things are going if you reckon it is worth going in and hunting it down. Best of luck to you mate, luckily I had been saving so I will manage without a job for a while but I do feel for others who are not lucky enough to have something to fall back on. Worked with some great people in my branch, sad that they had to struggle for so long in the face of terrible management that was driving in into the ground and has basically mugged us all over. I met Trevor Moore in my branch a couple of weeks back, said hello to me and then pointed out that I had 'my work cut out for me' and that was all he said and walked off (wasteman), wish I had another chance to speak to him again tell him what everyone is thinking now.

That sounds like theft to me.
I dont understand why companies do this, its fucking grim that people pay out for vouchers, and they take the money, then dont let people spend it or get a refund on the vouchers. I guess they dont give a fuck as they wont be around very soon.
What bothers me about that is the fact that they won't see any of that money anyway. At this stage they should just give their shit aways ffs.

Very poor move if they come out of administration without getting wound up though, isn't it

You guys should still be getting paid, I hired my little brother to come work in my store at Christmas and he got his final pay etc yesterday. Also we've been told EVERYONE will be getting paid for all hours worked and any holiday time booked. Not sure about the Ireland situation though as it's my understanding it's something to do with closing down the ROI stores sharpish that they wanted to do. Feeling for all the heads over there with their sit ins. I've had some horrible shit to deal with this week and the town I work in is full of fucking scum anyway and it didn't help the press turning up on the first day and trying to stir some shit up.

if they don't pay you for the hours you have worked just take them to court. They won't stand a chance and their public image will be lambasted.
