Grim, grim people - chain snatchers, shotters/rival shotters, plastic gangsters and some real ones, militant bouncers, fights as standard all backed with mcs spitting overly aggressive 'street life' bars (murder, guns, knives, selling drugs, fucking everything that moves) over overly aggressive, often poorly produced, music.
AND, afaik, it's the origin of the YOI.
Anyone who ever went to a Breakin' Science, Innovation, Best of British, Playaz, Low Down Deep night etc. will know what i'm on about.
That period of time was when I was going to DNB nights almost on a weekly basis so I can totally understand this. Started to get really bored with drum n bass though in late 08 early 09 which led to me getting more into dubstep

I don't doubt is was boring in 05, that's when I first got into it though and started going to the raves so it was all new to me. First dubstep night I went to was in 07, I stopped going to DnB nights entirely by 09. Now I'm just a sad fuck and don't go out at all lol

whatever the genre but i dislike people who are stubborn and concentrated on one genre only.. it's so childish and stupid. usually they're metal fans. like there wasn't anything else worth listening to out there. especially if they have condescending or even militantly hostile attitude towards other types of music.. makes me wanna smack the shit outta them
that being said when i was like 15 i used to diss everything electronic but lol it was just ignorance

Seems we've gotta develop a tolerance for techno nowdays
OR start a propa night that tolerates a
little grime, ukg & dnb.

That's when it started getting interesting, first with Biotic crew and Itch/Dylan and then it peaked with all the Therapy Sessions shit in 2006. Darkstep and drumfunk were the only shit with interesting drums and proper bassweight for most of the 2000s.

Pretty much all of this.
To name specific musicians, obsessive fans of 2Pac, Eminem, Eazy-E, Lil Wayne etc. You know the type. The kind where you say "my favourite rappers are (say) Ghostface, Black Thought, Big Daddy Kane, etc" and they respond with "wher da fuck iz Eazy-E?"
Snobby elitist hip hop fans who either write off anything that came out after 1999, or who listen to fucking Immortal Technique and Jedi Mind Tricks then write everything else off as "too mainstream" or "not lyrical, therefore shit" are just the worst.
Also anyone who comments in UKF uploads. It's enough to give you an anurism, reading that shit. Oh and classic rock snobs. Enough with the rose-tinted glasses already...

Ah I see. I just had a little trouble with the ambiguity of your post.
@DH - "Fanu is teaching ableton and ffs Macc used to be the most talented producer and ME who posted on the production board here."

A tedious inevitability. Best to let it run it's course.
Anyway, I lose on the who got bored of it first front coz i've loved it since 94 and never stopped. (subliminal)

soon as i saw the thread title i thought of hardcore, same one OP meant.. very elitist, music has honestly gotten very stale, everything seems to be about what's "cool" rather than appreciating good shit despite it not being "cool"
shows themselves are never that bad, just more the attitude of the scene

especially as both Immortal Technique and JMT (post-Stoupe) both suck lol.
UK hip-hop is especially bad for this.
