A) You said you've been hearing a lot of tape stops
B) Lately I've only heard tape stops in the top 40 and the "American EDM movement," both of which I consider shit
C) Therefore, it follows that you must only be listening to the top 40 and the "American EDM movement," and since I consider it shit, you listen to shit music

Yes.. totally logical.
ROFL.
Why is that funny.

The first time I read it I was like
Second time I was like WTF

HOW THE FUCK DID HE COME UP WITH THIS, "Therefore, it follows that you must only be listening to the top 40 and the "American EDM movement,""

ONLY WTF

You listen to 20% shit music, and you know it

I'm done with all you brostep stnuc.
I hope it makes you feel better about yourself to insult other people's music tastes. I suppose the only good music is the music that you listen to, right?

yeah but add9 youve got to realise that on a forum dedicated to a particular kind of music, another type is typically going to be considered bad- thats kind of how social groups work: youve just got to be prepared to be mocked for liking bad music

Yeah I guess I'm wasting my time then... however I do think that it's kind of childish to say "you listen to shit music," especially when the guy clarified that that's not the music he listens to anyway.

His point was pretty much that he was tired of the overused tape stop effect in popular music, which is true. You don't need to actively listen to a lot of that music to know that's true - it's all over the radio, on the internet, everywhere really. Obviously everyone who's on this forum is here because of a common interest in dubstep music, so why attack another member for simply pointing out a characteristic of another genre that we all know to be true? Childish and immature in my opinion.

Is there any brostep that would be considered good music, or does it all fall under the category of bad music? Just curious

I only call shit music brostep, but I suppose some people might put this in that category...

I also followed the music of people like Mr Bill, and Culprate for abit, but I'm kind of bored of them now.

Well I didn't say brostep wasn't shit... but if you define brostep as being "all the music that's shitty" then I suppose it is.
3za wrote: Oh does Benga 26 basslines count, and Coki Sponge Bob???
Haha I don't think I would call those tunes brostep. I mean, there's sub bass in those tracks :cornlol:

Nah definitely not brostep, haha. And yeah I haven't heard it before but I think it's pretty good. There's definitely a lot of production knowledge and skill behind that track.

Who cares if the arrangement or sound design is advanced as shit when there are no emotions? "Derp derp no arrangement derp no music derp".. Good music is not defined by arrangement, sound design or "bass lines". :6:

I love Philip Glass for instance. He made some of my favourite music ever.. there are no insane arrangements or bass lines there.

Arrangement defines emotions.

Arrangement is not the only aspect of a piece that "defines emotions"
