I get this is a bit off topic but yeah, there's problems getting funding down. The thread

suggests that we raise money without a clear idea of how to get the money raised actually working. Thankfully there are good organisations out there that are looking at how effective giving can be and directing it not only to those who most benefit but to those that have room for funding. It's one thing buying bednets if you don't have the infrastructure and agreements to get them covering beds.
But in the majority of cases actually getting money into communities helps them more, when people have money it stimulates the kinds of economic activity the community needs
