hahaha, well we can sit around rubbing our dicks to youtube rips of mala dubplates trying to choose what one's he puts in it, or we can wait till we get more news and then get hyped.
As for this thread should have more pages, why? Benga was eclipsed a long time ago by newer dubstep producers, sure he's got good tunes but he hasn't done a lot recently. Would it make you feel better for everyone on the forum to be saying he'll be missed? cos he hasn't been missed for the last 2 years, don't see why we should say that now.

Just an update for everyone - Benga played at Glastonbry on Saturday in a shit bar tent for an hour. There was me, my mate, four lads next to us, and the bar stuff who heard all of it, with maybe another 30 people coming and going through the set, mainly for drinks. at the end he thanked us for watching his 'last ever dubstep set' and came out to the crowd and thanked us lot personally. I asked him what he was doing and he said that he needed to get out of dubstep for the time being, and would be doing something different in the future. He also added that he has another dubstep album that he will be releasing further down the line. We got a photo then went on our way.
Considering how important to the scene he was, it was a bit disappointing that only 6 people were paying attention to him, but it was a bit of poor booking/advertising on Glastonbury's part I think, it would have been nicer to have him somewhere in the dance village where he would got a bit more of a crowd.
His set was a bit bro-ey, but had a couple of big tunes in there. He also dropped some hip hop towards the end for a little while.

not really surprising, he emptied a few rooms with his brostep past few years, wouldn't go to see him on a lineup now.
Hopefully he pulls it together and starts making good music again.

Bengal vs Hatcha DMZ LEEDS (2007 I think) smashed the room to bits (with PROPER dubstep), dubs for days, loads of unreleased stuff. Was legendary. Hatcha was doing some 8 bar mixing. It was madness. I think Benga combined electro sounds with Jazz and dubs sounds in a unique way. A lot of his old tunes still sound really fresh, zombie jig, electro music etc. I don't think any of the old skool producers cant recreate the circumstances, where originality and the right conditions, conspired to produce a unique combination of atmosphere and the feeling of limitless creativity. I remember when almost every dub played sounded unique and immense. D1 playing tunes like 'brainstorm'. Mala playing 'city cycle' on dub. Coki playing loads of skanked out trojan style D. Or is Jay playing vex'd dubplates. Dj Jay 5 dropping 'purple love' on dub.Is it me or has it all gone like dnb.....homogeneous.?

I was a 12 year old listening to kanye west in 2007 so I wouldn't have a fuckin clue, but listening to certain old youngsta sets etc gives me that feeling like you said, like that music could go ANYWHERE. Inspiring shit.
