Yeah obviously it's not as easy as just cloning someone, though i do think it will be/should be a valid method of testing drugs and other procedures in the future.

Do androids dream of electric sheep?m8son wrote:I suppose it would be a lot more traumatic for an average person who has lived an ordinary life to be taken from that life to be locked in a lab and experimented on.
Whereas a person that has been specially bred to lack emotions and therefore be less distressed and who knows no different than being in a lab and being tested on would be less traumatised.

Agreed. Everyone in the pharmaceutical industry (chemists) know that there's no money in curing diseases, so they don't fuck with it.AxeD wrote:Hippies and ethics are stopping us from energy innovation and curing diseases?m8son wrote:100% exactly thisAgent 47 wrote:my dads best mate is a chemist and he said the main thing fucking up progression in those areas are idiots with no understanding of anything gettin up in arms over shit they have no clue about

Ignorance and 'ethics' are the things standing in the way of cures for diseases, effective power sources, feeding the world and pretty much everything else.
I mean, ignorance sure, but don't you think maybe oil conglomerates and funding in the wrong areas play bigger roles than hippies?
You would have no clothes, no computer, no car, no anything made from any man-made material, you probably wouldn't be alive and if you were you would be living in the wilderness.jesslem wrote:Some inflated self-worth afoot.m8son wrote:if we didn't have chemists we wouldn't have anything

Obviously physics is equally important for most of these things but without chemistry they wouldn't exist.

I didn't say you said it. I said you implied it.m8son wrote:yeah tbh we wouldn't have to deal with your shit if computers hadn't been invented.
you are a muntlord. i never said chemists have made peoples life better, which they have btw, i said that without them you wouldn't have anything, which is true.
Without chemistry engineering is nothing.
Looks like you can't hack it, even though you love it when it's somebody else.m8son wrote:jesslem debates like he has just read existentialism for dummies and is really excited by it
Nah, depends on the field imo.
Cosmologists. Ban.
Chemists. Ban.
Medics. Ban.
Physicists. Big up.
Biologists. Big up.
