This. Replace halal meat with "Product A" and pork with "Product B" and theres no story, Company sells very little of Product A and loads of Product B so drops Product A and makes more Product B. The debates (if you can really call them that) aren't even about halal meat its about muslims DEMANDING that they don't sell pork and only sell halal.. Daily Fail kindly paint that picture in the title.. muslims "strongly demand". Nice little image of suicide bombers in Subway. In reality "strong demand" just means they don't sell much pork and loads of halal.

I was feeling a bit aggro there last night.
I just dislike any religious groups trying to force their beliefs and customs on you, Christian, Muslim or otherwise.
I think that Subway caved in but it was their business decision. But out of 185 stores, surely they all weren't in predominantly Muslim areas.
Subway is shite anyways.
What sort of mag is Daily Mail there in the UK? Is it a tabloid type mag?

Newspaper equivalent of Fox News... it's mainly bigotry and hate speech unconvincingly masqueraded as "good, honest journalism". It's readers take it seriously; everyone else in the world facepalms on a regular basis.

According to a search I just did on the Subway website there are 200 Subways in London alone and according to the articles I've seen on this over 1500 across the country.
So yeah, they probably are all in predominantly Muslim areas.
And this probably isn't a very big deal. Subway have gone just over 10% Halal.

Lloyds Bank accused of religious discrimination over free overdrafts on Islamic accounts
Lloyds Bank has said it will not charge Muslim customers if they go into their overdrafts.
The bank sent out a booklet this month explaining changes to its personal banking services, including one that would allow Muslims to avoid overdraft charges, The Telegraph reported.
The document stated: “We are removing the Monthly Overdraft Management Fee of £6 from our Islamic Account, Islamic Student Account and Islamic Graduate Account. So, if you use an Unplanned Overdraft on these accounts there won’t be any charges.”
Lloyds was accused of religious discrimination following the announcement. Barclays, Co-op Bank and RBS said they do not offer different bank accounts to Muslim customers.
James Daley, of the consumer group Fairer Finance, told The Telegraph: “The best thing would be for everyone to switch to the Islamic account to avoid these charges. But if everyone does that I doubt it will be financially viable for Lloyds.”
The “Sharia-approved” Islamic accounts were set up by the high street bank to appeal to Muslim customers who are not allowed to receive or pay interest under Sharia law.
On its website Lloyds says: “Following the guidance of Islam is an important part of everyday life, so we've made it an important part of everyday banking. Our Sharia committee of two independent scholars has guided us to create an account that’s right for you.”

I'll be popping to Lloyds soon then, graduating so my student overdraft will move from interest free to an interest rate one at some point.. pop in an claim I'm a man of the Muslim faith, transfer my -£1500 over and leave it there.

Don't really see anywhere where it says only Muslims can join though, just need to provide ID like any normal bank account. Defo getting in on this.
