Can't be serious :cornlol:
Punk is quite awful, Gareth.
It's so melodically bland that you can't realistically say that you'd appreciate it for its musicality, and you of all people would be the first to scream "fukkin entitled kids" if it were to come out now.
.
Oh right, I can't? Cheers for letting me know what I can and can't like and for what reasons. Fucking hell man. I don't think I've ever spoken about entitled kids, and I don't really get what that would have to do with punk.

Must've been mistaken when I thought that this is one of my fave tunes. Doh.

You lot say some baffling shit, I swear.

That tune will forever be associated in my mind with the awful Gustav Graves

Nah, I mean I don't hate it but I'm not drawn into that music. Both times were because of friends; the first was at a charity punk show in DC which was held right in front of his apartment (according to some guy we'd met 3 to 4 minutes earlier), the second was at a lecture about archiving in NY.

Deep House has never seemed particularly rebellious. Deep House was about going to the club and dancing with the sexy ladies. I never saw that with Punk.

so we're referring to 'deep' house not deep house right
undercut hairstyles, tight huf t shirts with rolled up sleeves, skinny jeans, shades, sniffing mcat, and shuffling like a bellend on the dancefloor to route 94 doesn't make me think much of punk if i'm honest

I agree based on my perception that most people who listen to it have no direct interest in politics. The blandness of the whole thing seems to appeal to people who don't want to think too hard.

There are some parallels to them, but they aren't identical obviously. The way Wub framed it is interesting though, shows the different reactions to similar circumstances in UK society (or music culture at least)
