Foxtrot...wow. That is some next level sound manipulation to make that song from the pack. Fair play

Glad we got so many entries. And honestly dudes, I don't know if many of you were around for all of these competitions, but in some of the old ones, there were some real dog entries, like people sucked. Everybody on dsf is so good nowadays. There really has been a change.
My hat is off to all y'all.
I've got shmarmy reviews of all the tracks, lemme wake up first and listen properly. Can't hold off on foxtrot, dude, now I gotta go out and buy a pair of used japanese schoolgirl underwear. Haha, so together dude.

They truly are. I wonder if google is using their Chinese hackerforce to damage sc, to weaken them, to make them more susceptible to a buy out? Maybe the ISP's are throttling them because they haven't fallen in line?
Maybe they just do way too much for way too free?

I don't care. I just want them to burn to the ground, and maybe they can also rise as a sonic artist.

Yeah, Foxtrot is head and shoulders above it.
Would like a quick walk through tutorial of how it was made and what sounds from the pack were used, once the voting is over

Voting is over with Foxtrot as the winner, so congrats to

Wow, I can't believe it, this is a huge surprise to me. First of all big thanks to wub for hosting and organizing the contest, and for everyone who voted for my track.
I've submitted only twice before, and I put a lot more efforts into those tracks. They didn't do very well. (Or rather: since they didn't come first, I don't know how well they did.) This time, I grabbed the sample pack on Saturday, and saw that the deadline was Monday. I listened to the samples and liked those guitar chords, so I figured I can put something together quickly. The tune came together in about 4-5 hours. I gave it a rest, then listened to it again Sunday morning. Still liked it well enough to submit, made some final changes and sent it in.
And I guess it won. Wow (again)!
Well, I didn't change any of the samples. (I only cut one of them, the "ha-ha-ha" out of the long conversation, but didn't like how it sounded, so it's played very quietly in the middle section.) Everything pretty much just plays as-is: I only used two effects, a reverb on the guitar and a cross delay echo on the lead. So, to me, everything sounds like the original samples.
Alpha though... Now that IS some wonderful sound manipulation. I have no idea where those sounds are coming from, they don't sound like the samples I heard in the pack

When I first heard it, I was like "we have a winner!" (I voted for that one and echo.)
A few thoughts on how the compo runs: after hearing the songs, I would have loved to give some immediate feedback, but if I post on the forum, it would have made it too obvious which one is mine. I mentioned once (long time ago) that voting from 1-10 might also be better. Shouldn't be hard to implement, and I think it would give better control to the voters, and better feedback to the people submitting. One part of this is just the fun: it IS fun to put something together from the samples, and (hopefully) we all learn a little, get to hone our skills, etc. Another part could be the feedback; perhaps after it's over, people could give their opinions on what they liked, what they disliked, how to make things sound better, etc. Anyway, this could be part of the voting (you give a number and perhaps a short comment, at the end the total score and all the comments are shown).
If someone has more questions, let me know, I'd be happy to answer them

Haha, have had this problem myself. I gave myself fake feedback
I like this two vote system.
Alpha, was that BudSpencertron?
ohm85, I didn't vote for you this time! You're slipping dude.
