Belated happy birthday, Bromley! Once you move to Mexico you'll get a name change. Where will you move? Speaking of names, if you and missus have a baby, will you put your last name before her's (i.e. child's first name + father's last name + mother's last name)? Most of my Hispanic students follow that order. I'm not sure if the wives also keep their last name like the parents of my students here in San Diego. I think that might be due to inconvenience (changing bank cards, social security card, driver's license, etc). Not completely sure. I also know of families having children with the same name (5 Maria's) but I'm sure that's old tradition. Their marital tradition is quite interesting but I'm sure there have been plenty of changes. Anywho, hope you had a good one.

That's what my other half has. First name + second name + father's surname + mother's surname.
Sadly as my name surname is 'Young' then it'll just mean any offspring we have will sound like Mediterranean rappers.

My wife's mother and father had the same surname. Sounds like a stutter.

hey normal, long time

thanks, I'm gonna be living in Hermosillo (just a bit south of the border with AZ) and yeah we've already talked about the whole baby naming thing, any kids will be Martin-Rodriguez. Generally the wife doesn't take the husbands name in Mexican culture, also I think my fiancee has some family in San Diego so we may visit that way in the near future
I'll have to make a journey over the border to party with all the SoCal and AZ ninjas sometime I think

esfandyar - is that how you spell it, he is up in AZ. Totally chill auro, plays good music, named after Jesus, will take you out into the desert and let you shoot his AK47, let you feel what it is like to be an American.
