Big up everyone new to the board. Ive only been on here since January, which isnt that long.

Dont be afraid to post! Ive heard this comment from a few people I have run into. I think this is one of the most open minded fourms ive been on. It has a wealth of information, so enjoy!

Hey there. New to this board, but I've been absorbing the dubstep sound for a couple years now... downloading mixes, keeping tabs on mary anne hobbs' show, etc.

I'm from boston, perform in a live edm band called Psylab. we mainly do house, psy-trance, ambient drum n bass... all with live instruments. A live drummer on a Roland electric kit, a bassist (with lots of synth pedals, etc), a synth player, and myself on visuals and samples.

here's some live footage of psylab in action... covering a tune y'all should be well familiar with.

how I fell in to dubstep:
About two years ago I went to London on holiday. I rummaged a bunch of record shops in search of 2step beats cuz that shiz was new to me... I came across this mix CD... Dubstep Allstars v.1. Thought to myself... hmmm, I like dub, it has the word "step" in it... it's gotta be interesting! AND HOW! I had to wait til Boston cuz I didn't have a CD player with me... but that CD caused an epiphany... and I showed that CD to our synth player, neil, and he had probably a bigger epiphany... less than a year later we were starting to cover a couple tracks off that CD, plus we got in touch with Joe Nice. He came up to boston and did his first ever show in boston with us last July 05.

cheers.

Hello, everyone.... another n00b here. I usually listen to electro, but stumbled across a mix by Loefah & Mala a few months ago and have been pretty much hooked on dubstep since.

Nice forums you guys got here... I've been lurking for a few days and really appreciate all the info and mixes I've already got from the dubstep forums. Look forward to posting with you all!
