I think that maybe we think like this cuz most of us got into dance music through dubstep. We thot it was something special and new. whereas old heads might of thot nah mate that's been done already. what's so special? same bass patches different bpm

now that we've grown a bit of connoisseurs we've basically heard everything already

also because internet cuz basically information spreads so fast that local scenes can't form it's just not interesting.

but Idgaf as long as there's good tracks

Respectfully disagree. As a geezer who witnessed firsthand the first generation of rave (in the US), the first wave of jungle/dnb in '94, and the birth of dubstep a decade back - those were all fairly insular scenes where not everybody knew about it and you had to physically try to go outside your house and find the records and parties. No longer.

But yeah, as long as there's some heads still making good tunes... :W:

Will also say that I (personally) am ready for something new that's NOT based on straight 4 onna floor. I'm ready for the next breakbeat mutation.

DJoe wrote:nah thats always existed. guy made an interesting point in the article that EDM is one of the few dance music genres that isnt in some stage of revivalism at the moment. one of the few genres that doesnt respect or go back to its history. obviously still shit tho lol
i don't think so at all... sounds extremly forumaric. big pararells to trance, electro and brostep...
doesn't sound new at all...

it has! mostly stayed there as well - actually don't know of many non-Finnish/Swedish skweee artists, apart from Wankers United who's introducted the sound in France with his Mazout label. Tiburoni label is operating from Paris as well..

oh and I don't know where Daniela Salvia comes from but her album was sick https://tiburonirecords.bandcamp.com/al ... ela-salvia
Skerminator is a banger
