Apart from some excellent stuff yet mentioned, I warmheartly recommend

Some bad boy beats here. Wouldn't have thought this many people are into this kind of stuff.
Other favs I've been feeling are Ohene, Kankick, Marc Mac (Visioneers) Ge-ology, Shin-Ski (of Shinsight Trio).

Wonder if anyone can point me in the right directions....

el-p produces all his own stuff. madvillain is either madlib or mf doom. pharoahe monch absolutely outdid himself with the simon says beat—self produced.
