If anything, kode's tunes on grime2 were anomalous and an homage to the past. 'sine' however was truly visionary but just remember, 'nothing messes with your brain more than the sound of someone talking rubbish.'

Didn't know about Zed Bias engineering sine, i heard it was knocked together really quickly, at least the initial idea, can't imagine Zed would have influenced much change in it (the beauty of that tune is there is so little to change)

Wish i had been into this music earlier, around the Zed Bias / El - B / Artwork Early Kode9 / Skream / Benga times, that stuff still sounds so fresh. Although there is talk of a 2-step revival this year, so i might get my wish.

There was talk of that last year - still not materialized

Apologies if this has been posted before, but it's been a LONG time since I saw "DJ Tamsin & Monk" written anywhere... And can't believe Hyper-on-E really did a tune called "Monarch of the Glen"!?!
Brilliant mix. Hyper-on Experience - legends. Deserve a thread of their own...

mr. bias helped engineer 'Babylon'. . .aka the version of 'sine of the dub' with beats that came out on Tempa Allstars vol.?? and was the first track on Hatcha's Dubstep Allstars vol.1.

There is a lot more chance of it this year i think though. Burial's success might lure producers into the scene and inspire them to make the swung 2steppy beats, there have been a couple of "oldschool" dubstep sets at FWD late last year (Scientist... :o ), Whistla has switched to "stepcore", people like you have been making nice swingy beats since i got into this music (and that was post-Dubstep Warz halfstep central)

There is also the return of Ghost, Horsepower etc (although everything new i have heard from those camps has been extremely swung halfstep)

Plus... umm... i've started producing, but somehow i can't see that making too much of a dent.

Looking forward to more 2steppy Keysound bits, it's kinda there on Northside Cheng Dub. Damn, a 2step sinodub sound in 2008 would be incredible

We'll all be reminiscing fondly about the golden days of half step within a year

the ghost of half-step will then become the new influence and people will build tunes around a one note 1/16th note syncd lfo filtered sub and simply a snare hit once every 4 bars.

Yeh, Badness is large. Too bad he had to inculde homophobic lyrics on this one... there's a reason why I'll never play it.

I agree with this show being one of the best things of the year, really looking forward to the next one. Last Thursday of every month then?
