it depends on the country you're in - can also mean you were someone's bitch in prison
always made for a bit of a a giggle when we tried to explain this to 18 yr old chavvy rude bwoys coming into the studio and asking for one cos they think it looks cool

how about your mind, your life?
find someone ( a tattoo artist ) whos also a good artist ( on other mediums aside from tattooing )
then think of the things that influence you, things you love, and ideas you have.
why have something that is possibly on someone else?

So it would not in your eyes be ok to look at elements of other designs on the internet and incorporate them into a more personal one off design?

http://modblog.bmezine.com/ is a great source for inspiration. It is also nice, because it always mentions who made a piece, so you know where to look for a quality artist.

I was giving an opinion.
I can talk coz I have enough tattoos to know.
I also have a couple that are rather 'cliche' tattoos as well.
thats why I said, go to a good artist, coz he can make your ideas come to life. Trust.
and don't get all hurt and shit, its the truf.
