I really don’t understand why the banning policy can’t be more transparent. There is a post on the main page explaining the rules ffs, surely a short explanation of in which way the rules have been contravened would suffice? Seems to work on most other forums......

Well, you would think wouldnt you.

They cover themselves nicely though

"WE ARE NOT AT LIBERTY TO DISCLOSE THE REASONS FOR BANNING"

aka..

"I CAUGHT BARE FEELINGS AND IF I DID REVEAL REASONS I'D LOOK LIKE A 4 YEAR OLD"

Exactly, it's bollocks.

I'd prefer people to disagree with me then a bunch of sycophantic yes men, it makes for interesting debate and conversation.

on the gaming threads subject, there's a 25 page thread which basically all the people who post in the ff/mgs threads use anyway. why dont we all just continue to post in that thread instead of making one for every single game that springs to mind (ff/mgs/haze/etc).

Im agreeing with this... I dont necessarily like how the guy went about what he was doing, but surely a warning or two would have worked. Maybe they did though, and we just dont know.

Cos people will move onto many different subjects too quickly and its a pain browsing through a 10 page topic.

Anyway, true story, my Dad told me back in the day (he's an anthropologist/archaeologist)... I don't remember the details, but there was an anthropologist living with the innuit a hundred odd years ago, adopted their life styles and customs etc. Igloo, full nine yards...

Anyway, not having the facilities to shave he was soon fully bearded and one day was out hunting when he got caught in a blizzard. He grew bitterly cold and knew he would soon die if he didn't find shelter. So he made a beeline for his igloo. However, as he was climbing into the entrance passage of his igloo the ice crystals in his beard, partially thawed by his breath, froze against the passage wall - with most of his body still exposed to the elements. He knew he would die if he didn't get inside.

So... and this amazes me about the resourcefulness of people... he pulled his pants down, and pooed into his hand. While the poo was still warm and malleable he fashioned it into a point. Let it set in the subzero temperature, and used it to chip his beard off the wall - and move to the shelter and warmth of the inner igloo.

A poo-chisel if you will.

WOW.

That could save you life one day.
See, this is the kinda post that is all too rare nowadays... Interesting and informative... Although i already knew that survival technique from the bleak Hampshire winter of '96.

Lol Dan.. YOU TRYING TO SAY FINAL FANTASY DOESNT DESERVE ITS OWN THREAD?

And plus.. if we took the FF talk there.. there might be like 3/4 different game convo's going on which might prove a bit confusing if we're talking at the same time.

You're proabably right on that, tbh...

Epithet got the ol' permanent vacation... we think it has to do with the PsyOps thread, but no one is sure...

And I agree with everything you say Vista...the more interesting and homorous posters are in here less and less..

Maybe I'll actually start doing some work and binning this place off.
getting scarily close to that myself :?

most of us spend ages posting on this forum, i don't think that qualifies many of us as not geeky

on a level though, griping about the state of the forum doesn't really change much does it, i probably don't contribute that much sensible stuff to the forum, hence i don't gripe about the lack of sensible threads, however to not make any "decent" threads yourself, and to then grumble about how everything is shit on here is a bit of a contradiction in terms
