aahhh its all the same man, Townie, trev, Scally, NED, Chav...minor regional differences.
but a scally is a mancunian and a chav is a gyppo.
see, i woudl say they are ALL the same person but each region has a different name for them. The guy i posted above is a straight up glasgow ned, but place him in Manchester and he becomes a scally, or put him in London and he becomes a chav, knwo what i mean?

Gyppo is a diferent though as a gyppo is a travelling person, i,e soeone who lives the lifestlye of living in a cravan and travelling around is it not? I could be wrong?

yeah, but gypsy/pikey references just mean "no money" to a lot of ppl.
rather than the whole lifestyle bit.

no, cos it is, and always will be CHARV. not chav. invented in the north while the south was still using greebos, kevs, or townies.

also, CHARV is used as a self-enforced term of mutual respect in newcastle, similar to the "nig" word in spike lee movies....

I dont think I've used the word chav for a year or so now, I would call people a "rude" instead, but I hardly ever use that anyway
