BIIIIIIIGS, Joe! you killed it. my head is still thumpin'...
nice to meetchya, by the way. i'm the other "joe" that cornered you on the stairway just before your set.
gotta know - what was that track that required TWO rewinds? sickness.
big shouts to Sek, Ytee and the crew - that step-up MC (MC ABC?) was tight too. my only regret is i didn't get to chat with deepsix like i planned, but he was mashin' up the vizuals all night. they looked killer!
now, Subtrac crew, where do you go from HERE?
brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrup!

Honestly, it was up there with Houston and San Fran, March DMZ -- and really, any gig i've had the opportunity to play. Just an amazing level of energy in the room and the place. Nice crowd, nice sound system...Toronto came with it...and because they came with it, i had to come with it. You name it....it got played.
DMZ vs MZN = wheel...everytime.
Caspa - Dubwarz = rewind
Scuba - If I Don't (dub mix) = LIFTED!
Scuba - If I Don't (rockers mix) = HHB, hard head bop.
Skream - Tapped. RAH!!!!
Hijak - Butcha.
send them to the butcha shop......
Monkeytek Productions - Lighthouse Dub
Pinch - Lighthouse Dub RMX
Shackleton - The Stopper
and some other stuff. I can't even tell you how many tunes got taken from the edge -- and i wasnt the one doing a lot of the pullups.
From the intro tune "Pinball Number Count" to the last tune..."In The Air Tonight"...it was two hours and 20 minutes of joy. A night i wont soon forget.
I got interviewed on Ryerson College radio. I also played a mini-set...aka, "the 20 minute workout". Great times....phone lines were moving. I was happy to be there and more than happy to play.
After the event, i found out that there's a thread on a local messageboard about the event. 12 pages deep.
TWELVE PAGES. When people are posting pictures of you(me) to earn free admission -- that's true appreciation. The promoter (Sek) and his "street team" (yes, a street team) really put in the work -- and it showed.
Check the thread
HERE.
There's also a "review" thread about the event. Go
HERE.
Walking around the city and seeing full-size posters of yourself wrapped around lamp posts, plastered on the side of mailboxes and littering the exteriors of buildings....there's something real cool about that.....
Thanks to the following:
Sen
Capro
Coda
YTee
Ghost
everyone i ate dinner with last night....you know who you are.
Extra shouts to Brandon (Sek) and Jessica...thanks for all the hard work and making this night a special one.
It just keeps getting better.
Yeah the night was absolutely tearin'....my first time mcing to dubstep and I'm mcing for Joe Nice, you can't go wrong with that....I lost 20 pounds cause of the heat.....was just track after track of killer dubs....everyone I talked too said they had a great time....nothing but positive vibes the whole night...big up all those involved, all subtrac crew.....hold tight for the recording of the night to be posted soon....as well as video, pics...

only let down of the night was that Capro's set got locked off before it even started. Management wanted to close down the venue even when people were still bruking out.
And trust that Capro could have kept 'em dancing. Man's got technical skills for dayssssss.
And big up Sek for lacing it tight on his set. Some seriously well-mixed biznizz.
Thanks for the props on the VJing. I plan to make some more appropriate content when I have some time...but as you know, that's hard to come by
Mad respect to all who came out, played, and danced their asses off. And to those who missed out....
SHAME ON YOU!
(That means you Autonomic!)

No doubt. Big up Capro and Sek - the main men behind this whole shebang. I usually just show up and look purty

they sweat it out on street level (though Coda and I put in a few hours of postering for once.)
