I like the other Chase & Status bits I've heard (Bits, Eastern jam, Saxon) but this is utter toss to be honest lol.

I hear what Seckle's saying about dynamics and melodies etc but I do feel that these things do still exist heavily in dubstep you just need to know where to find it. Tunes such as the ones C&S produce are made for the dancefloor, it's a part of the overall "Dubstep Sound" and the fact that it may get more representation than maybe some of the deeper stuff is just down to personal preference of the masses I guess. There's definitely a lot of people bringing musical influence into the Dubstep sound and pushing the boundaries far more than a lot of people seem to recognise.

taking the piss or what? they make terrible pendulum-esque d&b and now they're making terrible dubstep that sounds like...what pendulum would sound like if they made dubstep. people always talk ominously of that inevitable time in the future when dubstep starts to go down the tubes. look no further, its THESE idiots who will be at the forefront of the genre's demise into banality, i guarantee it
pendulum, chase and status aren't the enemy. they have their sound and its all subjective.

the elephant in the room right now is everyone trying to out drop the next man, and the general loudness wars that have filtered into dubstep increasingly every month, from the dnb world.

what happened to dynamic range? where are quiet bits in tunes? where are melodic build ups?

its almost like you can get a bit of tissue paper and a pen and jot down the whole map of these tunes in 15 secs..... LOUD LOUD WOBBLE WOBBLE LOUD LOUD WOBBLE WOBBLE DROP1 LOUD LOUD LOUD DROP2 FADE OUT.

listen to amit. listen to klute. listen to calibre. listen to breakage. listen to john coltrane. creating vibes is creating a bit of mystery in the music. using emotion and imagination.

this need lately to smash peoples faces off with loudness, doesn't progress the music. it makes it really juvenile.
Picking at straws, this thread is about chase and status weather you feel they are big and loud with silly drops or watever, dubstep as a whole is about anything goes, some prefer this type of dubstep others prefer the more melodic calmer type. To lable it as juvenile is just narrow minded imo.

Absolutely loving this track. A lot of emotion emerges after the drop. The beginning has an intentional tongue-in-cheek vibe that makes the tune for me!

tune sounds like the theme tune to the soap crossroads cerca 1988, actually maybe the trailer for an episode which involves people running away from a burning building ?? in my opinion

Only dubstep track of theirs ive really liked so far is Eastern Jam. This one im not quite sure what to think of it. I'm definitely not keen on the vocals as they ruin it. Would probably do the damage for me more in a club without them. Average piece anyway.

hmm get your point but i'm still not sure about that. imo i don't feel cheesy-pop is an attribute that fits to dubstep. but that's arguable.

dubstep is indeed music whitout bounds and in the end it's all a matter of taste what you like and what not.

and that's just why some people are getting all angry or dissapointed by this tune. so far i've liked almost every tune that came out, some more, some less but i know i've never disliked a dubstep tune that much and i'm getting horror-visions of going to a dubstep-night somewhere in the future where it's all about this kind of music. all hyped, bigger better, wobblier & no deepness whatsoever.

The best thing to do is go and see the names and styles you trust. Then this kind of stuff shouldn't interfere with your general enjoyment. I can't say i've heard come across anyone dropping this. Maybe someone could point out otherwise.

skream dropped this at the watch the ride launch party.

it had me standing still thinkin wot the hell.

interupted the vibes, was not the one. the drops bareable but that intro does NOT belong in a dubstep rave.

don't mind the cheese, sell out? buy in? whatever, this song got a tight melody, i like it. personally, i'm all about melody, and more into melody than i am dubstep. when i hear the two together its nuts, but even cumbia and all sorts of other stuff i'm listening to more of at the moment cause its trying to go somewhere new. this song, if not 'new' sounding is at least original. personally, don't really like much of their other stuff. but loving this song. makes me wanna play GTA Vice City
