To be honest its not so much a sign of a tune taking too long to come out, its the sign of a tune that isn't that good! First time impact is all very well and good, but the sign of a really good bit of work is something that keeps that impact forever. I mean, I actually have no idea how many times ive listened to neverland. But it still hits me just as hard as the first time I heard it.hopper wrote:I've got exactly the same thing with this track, it just doesn't impact me anymore. The first few times it couldn't really have hit any harder, but now it's lost that same excitement, sometimes it is a shame I think that it takes so long between a track getting made and a release. Looking forward to having Sinners on the flip morespiderman wrote:this track had so much impact the first few times i herd it...
but now it seems to have lost that hype a bit with me, i dunno. maybe its just all the attention it got and the clips and rips that have been rinsed to death on youtube and the like...
its a sad thing actually.
It's kinda difficult to narrow down that much, because there are some songs that I've really really loved that have worn off, and I wouldn't call these bad songs. Though if a song never gets boring to you then it is a sign of a really great track. I think though that most of the time, the first listen is the best one as you're completely unprepared for what's going to happen next and nothing can ever quite match that freshness of the first time. Though you get the odd tune that creeps its way up on and kinda begins to sink in after a few listens and you begin to appreciate it more and more after a few plays. The Wiggle Baron wrote:To be honest its not so much a sign of a tune taking too long to come out, its the sign of a tune that isn't that good! For me though, goblin just represents the silliest (in a good way) dubstep has managed. Very, very rarely buy tunes even remotely like goblin, but every now and again one comes out that has just raised the bar somewhat. I think this is the first time thats happened to me with dubstep since 3kout!
