You can't ban the guy on the soap box. You can't ban the ugly fellah who's always drunk and saying stupid shit. You can't ban the robber who will take your money and maybe shoot you.

The internet is a fake fantasy world where you can ban someone if you want.

Fuck the internet and fuck you if you take it seriously. Most of whats online is smoke and mirrors and you are a fool if you think anything else.

Whats online should be a simple tool. Whats on the internet is a means to an end. What you find online is but a shadow.... its barely a shimmering reflection of the REAL WORLD. Please don't ever judge someone from what you see online. Its not the same kind of reality as if we were standing face to face and whats online should not be giving the same or more meaning or value.

So i'm out. ya'll have fun playing in your fantasy land. Me, I'm in the shop or at the club. Don't email me or send me a PM. Come talk to me and have your say. I'll buy you a beer and we'll have a meaningful time.
Lay off the acid for a bit

im not going to defend the fact that the internet isn't shit

we all know it is

but i will say that its as real as anything else when people invest emotions into it

like those instances of people convincing the guy to kill himself on that body building site, or that bully who convinced the 12 year old to do the same

you don't have to take part in the bullshit, but the bullshit does have real consequences to people on the receiving end. and saying "its just the internet" is usually the first excuse they have

its real, its fucked, and its here to stay

just my 2 cents

What's funny is how some people think that there aren't dishonest, lying people in 'the real world' who pretend to be someone they are not. They can get really good at it with time too. Some people pretend to be the nicest, most caring and altruistic people alive just to lure you in and fuck you over when you truly need them.

The online world consists of real people that, yes, have an easier time pretending to be someone else than in the real world, so you gotta be more careful. However, to deny any realness in all people is stupid. 'You' are not the only 'real person' in a sea of liars or anything. I've met some outstanding people online, just because I haven't met them face to face does not make them 'fake' people.

Some people do take things too seriously online at times, like how a moderator does their work and worrying about threads getting closed or deleted wah wah wah. Why people bother about such petty shit? I don't know, but it's no sweat off my balls. If worrying about it makes them happy I'll ignore it for the most part.

Anyway, the internet is user and community driven. It's very real and so are the people apart of it. People that lie online likely also lie in the real life. Whatever. Edit: like anything, it has cons and pros. The cons is not being able to chill with people, side by side, have an actual laugh, an actual drink. Being 'aware' of their presence (a truly underrated feeling, 'feeling' good company is wonderful) and so forth. But it's the best, easiest, quickest way to find like minded people. Especially for true individuals. I wouldn't want my social life to depend on it, not at all. I do enjoy company more than a computer screen. But at the same time, I'd like the artistic and intellectual stimulation that only very few people can give me, the vast majority of whom live scattered around the world, so I' would always like to have some online friends in my life.
