That would be far more interesting. Sure they'd fit in really nicely with all the stripped out drum & bass floating about at the moment.
Very true

please....no!!!

dnb is dnb, and for god sakes it surely doesn't need another sub-genre. dubstep is rich and different and (for the most part) amen free and happy on its own.

let's not try and bring sand to the beach.

Promo wrote:Drum n Bass is boring. Chase & Status are boring. Last time I went to some drum n bass night well lets just say it was booooooooooooooring with a capital ber. Boom cha boom cha for the hold bloody night. Same old boring rhythm for 3 hrs straight. Oh did I say it was boring.
You missed the boat m8. Drum & Bass has been a big source of inspiration for how people approach Dubstep, especially from a production standpoint. Watch the Computer Music Rusko video and count how many times he references how DnB producers do things.

Look at the first Dubstep tunes that came out 4-5 years ago->you can not tell me this isn't the most boring sound of dubstep to date. Now you have established DnB producers crossing over and helping expand the sound of dubstep. This doesn't mean i would like to see DnB producers teach lessons on making dubstep, but ideas can be shared to help develop new sounds and keep things interesting for both DnB & Dubstep.

I always thought of Dubstep as a Cooler younger brother to DnB.

lmao.

early dubstep was far from boring. some of the best tunes of this genre i can think of come from the early days.

the dnb influx broadened the scope of the music but was not essential in anything, the pioneers crafted the fundamental structure on their own.

dancing at 140bpm and dancing at 160-175bpm are very different things as well. this is one of the biggest reasons why a dubstep dance has people on the dancefloor for 6-10 hours straight with very little breaks.

nobody over 25 is going to dance at 160bpm for 10 hours.

people don't consider the effect that bpm's have on the overall mood of an event.

Funny you mention that.

I was actually admiring how many producers post on here and how clean the forum is (for the most part).

dubstep forum seems to be more friendly than some dnb forums. Look at Dogs on Acid or DnB Arena if you need to see my point.

This is exactly what they do in Wellington... it's a bit strange and sort of dirty to be honest. :?
