I see where your coming from, but I think that a dj's selection can also depend on the night and or promoter, smaller nights are under more pressure to get people in the door and playing the more well known tunes does that to an extent. However I do believe a dj should play what he wants and not to please the crowd.

I agree with you. I've never been to a rave party, so before I express my thoughts, I would like to stress that fact that this is my own thoughts. Sometimes Dubstep sounds monotous to me, it's all the same drum sounds, wobble- and subbasses with a modest melody. I totally agree with Molloy, that just because you can freak out to the music or dance, doesn't mean it's good. I like to dance, but it doesn't have to be about moving your legs only, there needs to be something for your mind too.

I feel the same way to, that's why I rarely listen to radio. Some pop singers are just selling their looks and their body, most of it is made in the studio by a professional producer.

From experience I keep that assessment to myself and try to remember what pop music actually is about.

yeah no doubt it is a pretty stupid assumption now that you mention it. I'm not saying that a thoughtful set won't get me moving mind, more that there are a lot of these fans coming in from drum and bass and indie and stuff who don't have the patience to dance the night away to the slower stuff.

I agree with you Molloy about the excessive wobbles, someone like Skream seems to have the right balance with the bass.

I'm not sure about what you're saying about the ladies. it's amazing that there's fine women going to dub nights these days..it never used to be like that! Much better than spending a night with nothing but a crowd of sycophantic blokes.
