Who cares. Forget about cultures and sub-cultures. Let's all just take a couple of happy pills and be happy.

real emo had nothing to do with lego hair, black hair, bad hair, any type of hair, balck eyeliner and all taht other fuckin shite. it was just a term used for 'emotional hardcore' in the 80's dc scene (see rites of spring or embrace).
hardcore is a different fish kettle but i can say that everything (99%) thats currently called hardcore is actually not. most of it is just fast metal with less solos and more breakdowns. alot of early hardcore was based around only 3 or 4 chords because the bands didnt know any others and more focussed on the passion and intensity. I would also say that proper hardcore gig although it is violent its very rarely intentional and there is a large focus on making sure others are ok - ie. if someone drops u pick em no matter what the fuck's goin on.
hardcore should involve - good music, dancing, shouting, shopping trolleys and gorillas. as this video helps to illustrate

by saying this it just shows you actually have no idea what you're talking about.DanRev wrote:
I honestly hate it when people say this. New emo is still emo, just because emo elitists think its not doesnt mean so.
.
how does it make people seem open minded and smart? if you said old it would make more sense. just sounds like you need to stop hanging out with trend whores.DanRev wrote: For the record, I think both types are waste. I know alot of people who started to like old emo just so they could seem open minded and smart and then say they liked emo and then go into a rant about how new emo isnt emo at all rah rah rah
I love hardcore.mattron wrote:I remember I was working doors at a hardcore show and I had to watch kids in mesh shorts, flat brims, band tee's and dunks throw down with their headbands on.
later on in the night, some kid got punched in the face so hard, he fell backwards off the table he was sitting on and had a seizure, and started to bleed from the ears.
show was shut down, and my friend (who set up the whole show) was sued.
fucking HxC kids.
FUCK!!!! YOU BEAT ME TO IT!!!
