Those two tunes are plain bad boy tunes, no question. All are personal faves right about now.
Name me 3 producers who's tunes don't all have a similar sound anyway... every creative output from a single person will have similarities due to the fact its from the same person... fact. Better that than a bunch of weird off the wall tunes that have no cohesion or sense of ownership.
Im all for criticism, as it forms better output. It does seem the standard response for every single new tune by anyone is 'its so sick', which dosent help the producers if no constructive criticism is given out, especially with so many new tunes made all the time, how can they know whats working...?
Do people think the way in which new dubs are unleashed to the public should alter at all? Less is more, quality over quantity sort of thing...? Could dubstep shoot its load prematurely and just end up being formulaic and samey too quickly (im thinking of CASPA / Rusko; although both big in the game they need to diversify their sounds just a bit)? I hope not as i love it too much to see it go that way, and i'm sure everyone here feels the same.
Its a tough debate; consistency vs. diversity. What is best??

The trick is to get so good at what you do that everything you make reeks of your style, no matter what it sounds like.

Considering the focus of the thread is on those to tracks, I know its a bit pointless commenting on this but hey I'm bored at work and it got me thinking.
I dont mind the dnb in the sets the two styles are definately are connected however the thing about dnb to me is that it lacks space at atmosphere with that wall of sound production with the majority of tunes that are put out. What created the appeal of dubstep for me, was the smaller touches that make up the larger sound, atmosphere, space ect.
With this mind range trend of late not particulary in Skreams stuff but a lot of other producers (aswell) that are big in the game, I find that its now more about the heavier bass and adrenaline in the music, the atmosphere and the dub side of things in a lot of producers stuff seems to be taking a back seat. And this to me is similar to what happened to DNB

I mean fair enough if that's what he's into but i really disagree with it..... People get sick of everyone saying "dubstep is slowed down drum'n'bass" and by resorting to DJing d'n'b skream causes the scene to regress. Also, look at the rinse fm timetable: Firstly he is scheduled as a dubstep show, secondly there is absolutely NO d'n'b on there and i believe there's a reason for that.
Would be interesting to see what everyone elses opinions are on this topic.
(please note all words written above of an opinion that i'm entitled to and have expressed them here to not incite hatred but to start a discussion.)

ANd with regard to my 'formula' its my formula every producer has one.....end off....Its the same as me saying all people who write 'deep' dstep all use the same sine wave and all there tunes sound the same.......There are people outside this forum that like wobblerz. And its not like i play them all one after the other either is it....

Good to hear Skream doing something different with DNB - more dubstep producers should be writing original sounding DNB instead of whinging about how shit it is (I'm as guilty of this as anyone). Pretty much every DNB producer has jumped on the dubstep bandwagon why can't the reverse happen especially if it means breathing some life into the genre.
Metal mouth & What he say do sound similar but thats good as they compliment each other very well in the mix like 2 halfs of the same tune.

exactly what i was trying to say...seems to be drifting away
but The songs confirmed by skream to be on his new album are out of the top drow production wise
and pushing the boundries. Cannot wait.

People make tracks and by the time they release thier album everybody basically has every track thats on there and the album flllllllllllllllllllops
He's just lettin out stuff he's puttin together here n there to keep people busy while he makes in-depth, complex BANGERS for the album
So when it gets a release, it will smack you in the face.

Nothing but respect for skream I have to say, amazing DJ on radio - not feeling the one time I have seen him out at FWD - but that doesn't mean it was BAD, it just wasn't aimed at me! Where as benny ill's set earlier in the night was perfect for me! But TBH no one can expect the man to play Dark light and Repercussions.. type tunes all night because he is usually booked to rock the party not to appeal to those of us who like minimal beats.
Does that sound fair?

sometimes the point of a 2 track release is that an artist attacks a type of sound during his career, bangs out tracks of that style, makes some ill ones worth releasing (or maybe all of them are worth releasing), and releases them on one release.
whats the argument, it happens all the time.
