I meant that once the scene wasn't totally comprised of rudeboys with fruity (<<< overexaggeration), then the production has stepped up.
I love skream, benga et al but compare like the early tempa releases with like present day ramadanman or martyn tunes and you'll see what I mean.
They are incredible but IMHO they are not of the standard that some of the scene's leaders today are putting out.raffia wrote:?Apathesis wrote:Um, no?beatlejuice wrote:^^^another younger talkin shit yeah ???

most early tempa releases - esp horsepower - still sound incredible.

It's not that funny. I've only been a member for a few months but have been listening to dubstep for years. I'd like to think that views are judged on whether they're well informed and considered or not rather than how long the person posting them has been using the forum.djfurness wrote:Guys entitled to his views just as much as anyone, being a forum member longer is definitley not a sign of superiority, just thought someone who has been a member a month going on about 4 years ago not being a long time was funny.caunter wrote:yeah you tell him. how long you have been a member of this forum is a really good measure of how credible your arguement is.djfurness wrote:Comin from someone who joined up last monthQ23 wrote:People speaking about 4 years ago like it was "back in the day" is quite entertaining. - Like the dinosaurs roamed the earth in 2005.
I remember when these same arguements were had by fans of Acid House (why is everyone with a tb303 now a credible producer??), then Drum and Bass went down this road as well. (...was sooo much better before timestretch vocals were in EVERY track omg!!!)
15 years from now all this will get lumped into the same era, and new heads will not be able to distinguish the time before the "midrange cack" hit the scene, ruined it for everyone, and now you've moved on to this evil speed carnival step all the kids are listening to. (sorry, had to throw that one in there heh)
jokes aside dubstep has definately changed for the better. anyone else think nine samurai is shit?
